It also appears NOYMGC and Haskell were significantly more competitive than Baylor. The more things change, the more they stay the same

A tough choice between 1961, 1979, and 1992.

I would agree that the 84 team was the best ever I think this years team has a chance to top that however.

Alabama's 92 team was not dynamic enough offensively to be considered their best complete team.

A great team, probably top 5 in Bama history, but 2011 Bama was way better. The defense was every bit as good, it can be debated which was better. However there's no denying hte 2011 offense was light years ahead of 1992.

Coach Bryant felt that 1966 was his greatest team ever, and one that was screwed out of a National Title.

44 points given up all season, demolished #6 Nebraska 34-7, 6 shut outs, all but 1 game decided by double digits (Bob Neyland's Tennessee squad). 7 eventual NFL draftees, led by Kenny "The Snake" Stabler.

As for the 1992 team, that team, if I recall, had 8 players make the All-SEC squad, featured 4 eventual All-Americans and first round draft picks. Only gave up over 300 yards once all season.

It's difficult to compare eras. You ahve to compare it relatively.

Obviously there teams now a days are bigger and stronger than decades ago.

But you gotta say, for that time, which was the most dominant.
