You just proved my point. Who says you get to play AU and UF every year. Perm opponents will not work. Everybody must play everybody within a certain time period in order to uphold NCAA regulations

NCAA regulations?

Are you high? The NCAA just ceded autonomy to the P 5 conferences. We'll do as we damn well please.

And there is NO WAY that Bama vs AU or UGA vs UF or UGA vs AU get taken off the schedule.

the good news? LSU gets the big bad gators off the sched and the pissing and moaning can be about whothehellever you get stuck with as "perms" that starts pushing your shite in (hello Texas Aggies)

Exactly you are a kid because even after you know who I am your still going to bring an insult, who but a kid goes around telling people to go suck a dick and give insults, this is a place to discuss football not sit in front your computer and insult people like a juvenile, if you don't agree with something then just say you don't agree don't insult someone. If anyone disagrees with this than they seriously need to mature

That is news to most of us. We thought the purpose was for the west champion to play the east champion. Can you link the SEC by law regarding the conference championship game to show where it states that the purpose is to match the two "best" teams?

Nothing about the SECCG format needs to e changed whatsoever. It's even. It's fair. And it sucks to suck if you don't get in. All there is to it.

And you spelled shite wrong.

SEC divisions should be rearranged:

One division for all the up-tempo, HUNH teams. Other division for teams that are concerned for the health and safety of their players.

Look at it from this view, if an undefeated team from the west plays a two loss team from the east and loses, then that two loss team is the champ of the whole conference. Meanwhile in this scenario there would be multiple other one loss teams in the west. So the outcome of this would be a team holding a title who is not the best in the conference

So, kind of like 2001. Geaux Tigers, and thank you Florida.

I don't think so.

Things are cyclical. At some point, UGA and Florida will likely win the east frequently bc of their states high school FB talent. UT will be better soon. USC has the passion and resources to continue to be competitive. Mizzou is better than most here think. VU put together their best seasons in 60 years recently. Stoops is pulling talent at KY.

In the west, I see aTm and LSU with big recruiting advantages bc of their home states. Bama and AU are committed and push each other to spend resources on FB. Ole Miss and MSU are better than KY and VU, and are plussing up their facilities. Arkansas has won the west before and if BP had not got on that harlot- uh, Harley..

I do think cross division games should be played as the first 2 SEC games for everyone. Then finish the season with the 6 division games.

I would like to see AU put in the east and Mizzou put in the west to make geographic sense and get us back to playing Florida and Tennessee, but that is probably not going to happen.

sometimes that is probably true but it completely misses the point.

the point of a championship game for a 12 or 14 team league is to have a system:
1) with clear rules
2) that results in a single conference winner
3) that should ensure the best two teams in the league can not go an entire year without playing each other.
4) is entertaining and generates money to boot

It isn't always perfect - at least not to people who liked a team that lost a game they maybe shouldn't have - but you're throwing out the baby in the bathwater when you start whining about results counting

The two lowest ranked teams to ever go to the SEC Championship were from the West. Miss. State was one of them. Miss. St. was ranked #23.

I do like the idea of getting rid of divisions. I think the first time, a 1-loss team ranked top 5 gets knocked out by a 2-3 loss top 20 team, knocking both out of the play off this will get looked at. It could happen this year.

No divisions ,
2-3 perms, 7-6 rotating Home and home, 9 conf games total.
2 required P5 games, and a homecoming money game. Would be great in my opinion.

But it would be nice if the B12 would add 2 and all the P5 does the same.

My dream scenario for conference setup (tigers)

AU to the east (keep as perm oppenent)
Mizzou to the west
Drop Florida as perm
Drop one cupcake
Add another east team in rotation (total of three)
Add one perm out of conference (Texas IMO)
And keep the last two spots for in state schools (payday for state schools)

I say Texas because I'm from Louisiana but lived a large portion of my life in Texas and I would love the back and forth that would happen every year between me and old friends.

As I said, this my dream scenario. It may not be yours. And I also know it would never work because AU and Auburn would have to be perms. A man can dream...

I saw an article written on why the SEC should go to 9 SEC games a year. It said that you keep 1 cross divisional rival, and then rotate the other 2 teams every year (from the other division). This way, the college player gets to play all the schools in the SEC during his 4 years of college.

So for UGA, we will keep Auburn as cross divisional rival, and then rotate on 2 other west teams every year. I love this idea b/c it ensures that the players get to play every team in the SEC if they stay for 4 years.

All SEC schools can cut out one of their weaker opponents or one of their tougher OOC team and replace them with another SEC school.

The only negative to this is that we could screw another SEC team out of the playoff w/ an extra SEC opponent compared to a cupcake team.

You must be 12. Most LSU fans enjoy the UF/LSU rivalry dipshit. The point is you are going to play who the frick the SEC tells you to play regardless of rivalries. I am sure they would accommodate most years but there is always an unknown

this is why bama and au need to swap with mizzou and vandy. the permanent rivalry thing throws a wrench in the works, so just swap those teams, then we can just rotate 2 cross divisional teams every year

as far as lsu and uf, i like rivalry and it has grown into a true one, at times it has easily been the most important sec game of the year and gives LSU exposure in florida which is well worth it as far as im concerned. i dont like our administration and coaches whining about it. it has its upside.
