You could argue they should be ahead of LSU, but that clearly wasn't the same LSU team.
They didn't just lose to UGA and Barn though, they got obliterated and were never in either game.

Looks to me like anc has MSU at 15 and Lsu 18. You know as in his words “that pesky head to head matchup”

Shows that the name matters more than actual performance. LSU lost to freaking Troy.
Fwiw I think both should be ranked but it's hard to justify LSU being ranked and not state

No because they’re Mississippi state. They may have the same record and beat us, but they’re generally boring and worthless. Nobody cares about moo state.

AU ranking shouldn't piss you off. This is what you get in every conference once you go from the dominate teams to the good teams. It's more about matchups and big plays. Top to bottom AU is a better team this year than LSU. LSU is clearly better in the defensive backfield and that (along with some big plays) won the game. AU has absolutely destroyed every SEC team and really should have put LSU away before a comeback was even possible. Not that it matters though because neither team is destined to do anything significant.

If we beat A&M we will be 7-2 ranked 15-20 going into bama game. Likely lose that one then win the last 2. Finish 9-3 ranked top 20.

Gotcha. However, any time a team wins head to head, they have a legitimate argument as long as it wasn't a fluke win. (Missouri beating Alabama, for instance)

State got crushed by Auburn and Georgia.
We beat Auburn and Florida who were both ranked that’s why we are ranked. Lsu shouldn’t be in front of Auburn just because we beat them and State should be ranked but not in front of Lsu
I meant to say that they will be ranked if they beat A&M.
