I see your problem now. You're just not that educated on football.

On paper BYU shouldn't win, shouldn't be very close either. However... with a 24 year old experienced throwing QB, BYU has a puncher's chance.
LSU has a number of important question marks beyond the obvious QB and new OC scheme. LSU OL is not a proven commodity and BYU has a pretty solid front 7. The biggest OL question is pass protection. If LSU struggles to throw the ball, they will need to rely on speed getting to the corner... which they have, but attempting that move with bubble screens and jet sweeps might provoke some bad 9-11 memories though BYU doesn't have the speed Alabama had.
I'm not convinced about LSUs front 7 on D, nor for that matter the homogeneity of the secondary. There are not enough experienced and proven LBs to not have some doubts about a new D 3-4scheme. The fan group think has gone from doubting/worry to so cocky/positive the defense is going to be overwhelming this year that it is laughable. Whether LSU D is great, good, decent, meh, remains to be seen and BYUs OL is one of their strengths.
But BYU has a lot of questions too...WR, secondary, RB especially. Still, they do have a QB who is a true draft prospect. I think LSU wins by 10... but it will be an interesting game.
Oh... LSU fans seem sure they will wear down BYU, but the quality of LSU's depth is not a proven commodity either. Last year the mantra for LSU was "18 returning starters and a Heisman RB." Somehow after losing 5 draft picks and returning a modest amount of experience, and having to rely on freshman LBs etc., the fans are even more confident this year. But that is the average fan, not the football people.

I hope LSU is worried about every opponent they face and then maybe they will prepare properly...
LSU Fans, well, that is a different story.

Fair point. I think the combo of Malone, Brumfield, Clapp, Cushenberry/Charles, and Weathersby with potentially Deculus coming in will surprise some with their ability to get a push. Lots of big powerful guys in that bunch.

Also fair. That's where play action and moving the launch point of the QB will be a big advantage

I think this is where Canada's confusing offense will help a lot. Not knowing who is getting the ball on any given play is a big improvement over what we've had in the past.

I strongly disagree with this. Our LB corps is mostly veterans. The only spot where there will be possibly new guys is at the Buck position with Key out for BYU.
Buck: Key, Chaisson, Thornton, Anthony
ILB: White, Phillips, Taylor
Rover: Alexander, Divinity, Queen
Field: Thompson, Divinity, Voorhies

Why is it laughable? They were elite last season and can be again this season.

Saying LSU's D won't be dominant under Aranda is laughable. BYU will keep it close at half and LSU will win by 3 scores by the 4th quarter and freshmen will then get some PT

You still have crap WRs, a mediocre OL and a sub average Qb.
Based off what exactly? We have better WRs then Auburn and our OL is just as good if not better. Hell our QB has proven more in the SEC then your QB.
Just because some auburn poster says LSU is shite doesn't mean it's fact. If you look at our rankings at the positions you claim is shite, then I would be worried about my own team. We've recruited very well at these positions.
Les freakn Miles almost beat you with zero offense. Once LSU starting using its weapons we marched up and down the field on everyone but bama. Had trouble getting in the EZ with FL but Canada is a specialist at this. LSU offense is going to be much better and everyone knows it. I would be worried about LSU too if I were the SEC, hence why y'all started this thread.
Don't act like LSU has this impossible uphill battle to be a dominant offense. You know better and if you claim you don't, you will as soon as you come into Death Valley and get run out.

You should worry about Georgia Southern. Way harder than BYU. Kevin Steele trying to stop the option is going to be hilarious.

There's many false hopes in your little fictional story about LSU but this one about BYU is known to be false. Reason I know is because we've had BYU fans telling us all week that their OTs are a huge concern especially LT. Their middle is ok but thier OTs aren't, which happens to be where LSU has a huge advantage. We have more depth in our front then last season and we did ok. Have much more depth at LB across the board. You guys have no clue what LSU has. Y'all just throwing darts but missing the dart board completely. Dream on fella.

This is a game of good vs evil. In one corner you have the foul mouthed, tshirt ripper that challenges any player on the team to try and kick his arse and see what happens.
Im the other corner you have a coach that doesnt curse, drink, smoke or threaten to kick his playets asses. He did his 2 year mormon service and id a devout Mormon.
The evil doers is LSU of course and the good guys are BYU.
