Tennessee going back to the 1940's to find something to be proud of.

Fun fact:

Robert Neyland was 6-0 vs tBear.

Check your facts

While the Bear never beat Neyland, and the Bear was cool enough to give Neyland credit the rest of his career, I think he did tie Neyland in one of those games.

Actually he did tie him in 2 games.

I really don't know why we haven't claimed our 1960 national championship.

Because Ole Miss has a better claim?

Both schools probably got screwed when they gave it to 8-2 Gopher team.

Don't see how Ole Miss had a "better" claim. Ole Miss finished the season 10-0-1 with a win in the Sugar Bowl and Missouri finished 11-0 with a win in the Orange Bowl.

Probably because no one gave a shite about Missouri and, still, no one gives a shite about Missouri.

Shouldn't you be in your "safe space"?

Still is and always will be the dumbest decision in college football. This generation may not get everything correct but at least they aren't as big of idiots as the people in charge back then. Had to make for some of the most boring games to watch seeing as how they had zero meaning.

Shouldn't your team that has 3 first round draft picks on it be making its first trip to Atlanta to play for the SECCG?

11-1 and beating #1 in a bowl would get you a national championship today, so yes.

I suppose you had to dig really deep for that one.

Nonetheless, you hurt my feelings. I'll be in my safe space.

Wow,what a staff.John North coached at Vandy some and was one of the Saints' HCs in the early 1970's.Bob Cummings was Iowa's HC in the 1970's,Blanton Collier would lead the Browns to the 1964 NFL title. Surely everyone is familiar with Schnellenberger, Arnsparger and Shula.Allen was a member of Tom Landry's Super Bowl VI staff.

Wait a minute. What was Missouri's record on the field that year and entering the Orange Bowl? Was it 10-0 or 9-1?

As I understand the rules, any national titles won by a Bama coach before his tenure at Bama are automatically credited to the Tide. If LSU doesn't hand over that Saban title soon, REC lawyers will get involved and it won't be pretty. They should just concede the point now and save their money for the Jimbo hire.
