They're making more than a lot of folks on here.

They're already paid. They go to school for free, eat for free, and get all the free Nike/Under Armour/Adidas shite they could ever want.

Paying college athletes will not solve the problem. Once you start paying players, you open up the door for players organizing, negotiating contracts and anything else that goes along with paying someone.

Paying players is never going to happen. If you pay them, you cross the line of amateur athlete to professional athlete. Once that line is crossed, the NCAA would most likely lose their tax-exempt status with the IRS. The NCAA is not going to let that happen.
You can talk about all the other issues it would cause, but that one is the main reason why it will never happen.

I've got a better question.
Should scholy athletes of money-losing sports have to pay scholy athletes of money-generating sports?

He left out the part of spending his money on hookers and blow, hence the need to couch dive for loose change.

Don't know what you are referencing, sorry. What I do know, from experience, is that college athletes live and eat for free. Maybe this guy didn't like the cafeteria food or he was hungry after it was closed but it's not because he had to pay for his own food.

I wish I didn't have $40K in student loans to pay off.
