The frick does that have to do with the OP?

Bama is in need of a non-threatening rival that will never get back up and punch them in the face.

The fear of #decline is strong in Bammers.

Not yet, I'm still not over all those beatings they gave us before Saban.

There shouldn't be permanent cross division opponents

You missed that Iron Bowl beatdown?

Losing by 6 isn't a beatdown.

Now
45-10
44-13
37-6
41-10

those are beatdowns.

Well then move us (and Auburn) to the East and put Kentucky or Vanderbilt and Missouri in the West.

Auburn's back CT. As much as you might not want to admit it they're back.

Back? They won the BCS in 2010. I don't know if one bad year under Eugene means they really left. UT on the other hand...

That's why I say we should upgrade our schedule by playing the best team from Tennessee.

Sure you mean 'upgrade.' Because Bama is so well known for tough OOC opponents that they want to 'upgrade' conference play too.

I agree. Vandy would be an upgrade. Hence the op.

Alabama should replace both LSU and UT on the permanent schedule. They need competition, other than Auburn.

No doubt. The fact that he kept a straight face is impressive.

Well, last 2 years (and probably 3), Vandy-Alabama would certainly have been a better game than Alabama-UT. Is there any doubt about that? As for the future, well, it will likely alternate with Vandy-UT becoming more competitive.

ETA: No, I'm not for ruining the TSIO because it's been a historically significant game in the SEC. I just think the point that Vandy would have been more of a challenge lately is factual.
