To act like Wiggins had no upside is a bit disingenuous IMO; but it appears he may not be a fit w/ what Pruitt is trying to do @ Ga, so this is likely the best thing for UGA and Wiggins. I wish him well.

Posters who've poked fun @ a walk on possibly starting, laugh if you will - Aaron Davis has been turning heads at practice and looks totally legit. We'll see.

Im sure yall would be more than happy to scoop up our leftovers, but no one in sec is going to get him. He is Louisville all the way. He is going to where is promised a starting spot, not where he has to earn one. So I'm not sorry to see him go, if he is not on board with what we are trying to do, then good riddance to bad rubbish.

Shaq is transferring to Louisville where he doesn't have to work to get the starting job.

He will then be allowed to play shitty and keep his starting job by blaming it on the complexity of the defense.

Meanwhile, Grantham will not change his defense and "give Shaq time to learn it," while staying the starter.

Except it's not his policy that handcuffs us.

Yea, that's it. Auburn wouldn't know a talented defensive player even if they stole a ton from the state of Georgia...

Not your standard walkon, he was a high level recruit until he tore his ACL, but a walkon nonetheless.

So which is it? Was he beaten out by a walk on or a high level recruit?

A walk-on. Aaron Davis basically missed his last two years of high school football due to an ACL injury. He was a high-level recruit after his sophomore season. He came to UGA on the HOPE scholarship

He's 6'1" 200 lbs and runs a 4.5, but he's still a walkon.

Honestly, UGA's secondary is such an unknown quantity, that it's hard to say what losing wiggins will even mean.

Obviously, it doesn't help, but they were pretty screwed already anyways.

Lucky for UGA, their front 7 should be pretty sick.

Thank you for a productive comment you silly gator, you. But seriously, I expect the secondary to be a gigantic cluster frick no matter what. A lot of damage to repair and yet another year of basically no experience. I am putting a lot of faith in Pruitt and co getting a ton out of the front 7 to make the CBs look even better.

Last year our secondary sucked but the front 7 didn't do a TON to help them. They were good but I am hoping for a lot more and a good front 7 can really mask a bad secondary. Especially in a year where all the elite QBs are gone

Yeah, lucky for UGA the SEC is way way down in the QB department this year. Not a ton of good WR either.

Or at least it doesn't look that way now.

Not a bad year to break in a new secondary, again.

But if that front 7 has any injury issues, it could get ugly.

Objectively we haven't had much talent at the DB position in a long time. Hopefully some of these new guys work out but there's no 4 stars much less 5 stars back there that I can see. Hopefully this changes with Pruitt doing the recruiting.

I'm hoping Gurley and company will help keep opposing Ds off the field. And, as noted already, the front 7 stands to be good.

Yea. Hopefully the offense can keep the pressure off and the four horsemen can keep the ball on our side.

I expect good things but I am not the dawg expecting a top 25 defense. Top 40, yea, but this isn't gonna be a quick fix.
