I mean nevermind that Shaq gives millions back to the university and is an incredible ambassador

In fact I bet way more people know that Shaq played basketball at LSU in the 90s than Arkansas winning the NCAA title in 1994.

Shaq was well worth whatever we paid him

I don't really care about basketball. In Football.. outside of Vandy and other low tier teams like Arkansas and South Carolina.. probably the cleanest in the SEC. Easily the cleanest of the SEC powers.

Playing for LSU payed off big time for Shaq which was what Shaq was telling the journalist ,but the man was lusting for readers instead of the more boring truth ! Shaqs almost empty closet and lack of funds didn't raise any suspicions of poverty to the lying journalist !??

Shocker. I'd be far more surprised if an elite basketball player didn't get paid in college.

fricking Aggie rump rangers. LSU always on their minds.

At $5 million/yr. for Sumlin, Shaq's playing days were a bargain.

Post statement interview

“Everyone knows LSU is the most honorable university ... ever,” he said. “Everyone also knows I don’t sell my soul for anything.

“We have to stop letting social media run things. ... It was a joke at an event where I told a lot of jokes,” he said. “Everybody knows my time at LSU was nothing but love and sacrifice — all for the university. That’s what LSU stands for.

“So, people of the honorable LSU, don’t worry about nonsense from these idiots. We know what we do and we know how we do it. That’s why I keep coming back every year.”
