an orphan from the ghetto who didn't want any money to play? other than the leaving college early thing, his character was the complete opposite of the real shaq

Y'all didn't even make a sweet 16 while shaq was on the team. Y'all beat duke once in regular season.

Newsflash for you. Only one team wins an NCAA Championship per year. The fans of all those other teams still follow their favorite teams for the entertainment value. LSU fans didn't get a championship from Shaq, but we did get the entertainment value of him playing for LSU. That was more than enough return on our investment.

A loose reflection? Seriously though, I'm sure Shaq didn't ask for the money just as Neon didn't in the movie. Dale had the luxury of building a relationship with Shaq very early on.
