I'm sorry... Did he actually hurt someone??? Force someone to rape/assault/batter someone??? The idea of living in a freedom of speech society is just a dream. 99% of this board has said worse. Still pissed about Paula Dean

You are entitled to your opinion as stupid as it is. We have free speech in this country. You are free to say whatever the frick you want for the most part just like your employer is free to fire you for saying it for the most part. That's as free as free can be.

This statement is downright comical. The worst case scenario for Jones is that he gets fired and never coaches again. The Vols end up looking at a Mike Price scenario where they have to hire someone right before or after spring practice.

Try reading my statement again and paying more attention this time.

it seems like the worst case scenario has actually occurred to this point

Meaning that everything up to now has played out like it would in a worst case scenario. NOT that where we are now IS our worst case scenario. I agree with you on what the worst case scenario is (that we have to clean house and fire Butch, not to mention potentially the AD). And the new unrelated cases and now this report have set things up so there's a possibility that happens. There's also a possibility that nothing is found as proof and this whole thing is a non-issue a few months from now. But so far, this is exactly the start that UT fans didn't want to see.

If Drae really has a sworn affidavit that says Maggitt punched him and Butch called him a traitor then he's fricked. Drae is a good kid, and I highly doubt that a son of a police captain would lie under oath.

You fricking serious??? So if I tell you all cops should die, you going to grab a gun and start shooting them???

To be clear..I'm not condoning what is purported. Im simply stating there is a legitimate claim to privacy between two people. We can't possibly know the whole story. But to destroy someones career and livlyhood for ANY frickking words said is absurd. Called him a traitor...

Big fricking deal. It's not what you "think" or "say"... Only what you actually do matters.

Was he joking...??? Debating??? Smart arse retort??? Even if it was on purpose. Still....

Reprimand the man...total destruction is not warranted. Sad part of the PC society we live in...the whole issue MAY be overstated as everyone gets 5 minutes on their soap box. I can see I'm prolly won't be back in this thread.

Just to be clear...if it's true, he's a fricking insensitive a-hole and I don't condone that...

Are not many of these twitter accounts hacked? I am hoping for both Coach Jones and the University of Tennessee this is the case.

Really?

There is nothing that can be said that crosses the line for you?

You should just leave this thread. Seriously. You are impervious to rational discourse.

A person in a position of authority shouldn't be intimidating a subordinate for helping a rape victim.

This is a fricking disgusting development. If true, he should not be allowed to coach collegiate ball again.

The Vols are fricked. Their violations will be worse than Penn States

Wait... You think this will be worse than an administration covering up a coach raping kids for decades?

Exactly. If I was the UT president, it would be curtains for butch. People are entrusting their children to this university. If a coach disrespects women in this way, he is promoting that to his players. I wouldn't want a POS like that around my students.

As a dad of two young daughters and someone with common sense, this is disgusting.

I honestly feel sorry for UT fans right now. This sucks.

you're probably too young to know that the penalty for rape was death and not that long ago. it took a lot of proof and most women kept quiet but society in my day didn't tolerate near as much as what it tolerates today.

One school reported it to the proper authorities. The other is Tennessee

That's the problem, and the possible link to a "culture". If he said this, he's a disgusting misogynist, and this comment will be used by every competing coach to every mama of every kid Tennessee recruits. In today's PC world, this hurts.

I feel bad for Vol fans right now. And for the good kids who make up the majority of UT athletes. This sucks.
