I thought for sure Florida was going to win it when they had bases loaded with one out. Low and behold, third baseman comes up with his own DP.

hell it was bases loaded with 0 outs

breaux is often inserted for defense late in the game. that isnt PM's fault at all and was a good call. kid just screwed up a fairly easy fly ball.

I guess but something about subbing a kid who hasn't played all night that's sort of a risk you take when the very first batter he sees hits a shot that is a judgement call on how to field it. Then something like that goes down and I'd agree that he should have make the catch of course but it wasn't what I'd call a lazy fly ball or anything like that. That was the whole problem was he got caught in no mans land whether he could catch it on the run or kind of dive for it. Wouldn't you at least agree he makes that catch with ease if he at least had an inning or 2 to get settled in?

it wasnt lazy but the kid is also twice as fast as beau. so it would have been a much tougher play for beau to get to. breaux is a good outfielder, he just fricked up the play.

it wasnt lazy but he also didnt have to dive. it was just a running catch, one he'll make probably every other time for the rest of his career.

Catcher isn't even touching runner in that picture.

In slo-mo it was extremely close....but we'll take it since he was blocking plate.

I agree with you on all that, my main point was to the Florida fan pointing out we had some tough breaks and self-inflicted wounds ourselves and still overcame them. Just one of those bizarre tough luck baseball games where a bunch of crazy stuff happens.

Seriously Great Game Florida.... by atlgator

It's some twisted logic that you're using. It takes a real homer to spin this the way you're spinning it. If a run scores that shouldn't, there's no way to spin it to say it went in Florida's favor. In the emotion of the game, unless Rivera cusses at the umpire, I see nothing wrong with what he did. And obviously, neither did the umpire or he would've thrown him out. You sound like a dickhead for arguing that the blown call was in Florida's favor. Idiot.

Dude. Ya'll (you guys?) are still in it.

Puk was straight dealing. if gators could have gotten up 3 or 4 to 0, I don't think it goes to extras

Sully left him in too long and his slider was floating across the middle in the 8th. LSU made him pay for that and our defense went BUUUUUUURP.

Either they need to completely enforce the blocking of the play or they just need to go back to old school baseball. How in the hell you suppose to slide through the catcher when he was blocking the plate. I have seen this all year long with no calls on the catcher! Mood point IMO

The umpire didn't call him safe because of blocking the plate. He called him safe when he was out. Blocking the plate is a baseball play, especially in that situation. The umpire missed the call. The stakes are too high to miss calls that are that obvious.

Any decent umpire from that angle would've called him safe because the tag was made so high on fraley. Anytime a high tag is made there's a good chance he calls him safe on a close call.

yep. if the catcher can get away with blocking the plate the runner should be able to de-cleat him

With 2 games won in the final inning. It's been very competitive. Guess we have different definitions of arse beatings.

What team wants to play another team that the hottest team in the country and is leading the current series 3-1?

And for me a loss is an arse-whooping, baw. I didn't get trophies for second place, millennial.
