Serious Referee question for all

I've been reading all this junk about Ritter on this site and it is what it is.
My question honestly for anyone who may know is this: If all college football rules are the same, which they are, then why do we have "conference" officials? The NCAA should go to a "regional" plan and move crews around to ALL conferences.
By this I mean if an official lives in the Southeast then you can cover SEC and ACC games. Northeast officials would cover Big 10, ACC, and maybe some Big 12 games and so on......
Just wanted to know why NCAA doesn't do this. Enjoy the day!!

Do you think that will stop your fellow LSU fans from bitching about refs?
Posted on 10/1/15 at 12:12 pm to East Coast Band
It will NEVER stop that nor any other football fans from blaming the refs!!! Hahaha

Because then Alabama would lose some control over the refs, and we tell the NCAA what to do, so they leave the status quo.

The issue that needs to be addressed is whiny fans. Confirmation bias, they don't notice or remember the calls they like and cling to the ones they don't. Because they can't accept their team lost a game or some other team might be better.
Just solve that issue and everything will be fine. Regional adjustments will change nothing

The obvious answer is the people that look out for the LSU's interests in the SEC Office are the biggest morons to ever get a job.
Meanwhile... all the other schools sit idly by while Bama has a free reign in whatever they want to do.
LSU fans that buy into this goofy conspiracy are becoming a caricature of themselves.

LSU fans have nothing on the longhorns when it comes to melting over refs.
They are trying to open an investigation after last weeks game against OSU.

I think it should be a mixture that calls every game. I think every game should have an official from every conference call the game and stick to the rule that you can never call a game for the school you attended.

Unless they have changed a couple in the past few years, the rules are not all the same across conferences.
And on top of that, the NCAA doesn't write their pay checks. The conference does. They are not employees of the NCAA.

So just Bama fans saying to stop complaining, no serious reasons given except one?
I want to see the evidence on this. I don't believe it's true, or bowl games and regular season cross-conference games would get messy.
Also don't like the "they are paid by the conf" argument, as if can never change. There are tons of NCAA employees. Take the money each conf typically pays officials give it to the NCAA, and you get a few more NCAA employees.
Would this make officiating better? Maybe?!?!.
But it could also remove the appearance of internal bias/corruption by making it national. Why would "average Joe from Wyoming" have a bias toward Georgia? And even if he did, chances are he'll only have one of their games in a 10 year span or one in his entire officiating career.
Having Conf specific officials just does not make sense to me in this day and age. I'm hoping someone can explain it.

It was the same in MLB until MLB umpires shot themselves in the foot by walking off the job in 1999. AL and NL umpires were also separate entities.

Yes, they are.
And have been for a long time.

B12 teams are bitching about the officiating. texass is really complaining this week but most of the teams do it weekly.
Pac fans swear to god they have the worst officiating in college football.
Is it really any better anywhere else??

I love seeing the biggest babies in the SEC "Gunmps" talk about LSU fans sensitivity of the SEC officiating.
We only hate one Tom Ritter and for a long hisotry of reasons.
The Gumps have the SEC offices in Birmingham. The SEC offices are staffed by Gump Fans. The Gumps also have the biggest mouth piece running a show on the SEC channel. Finescum. Anyone that has lived in Birmingham for a number of years knows what Finescum is. He is not the voice of the SEC. His reason for being is Gumpville and his God Saban. Tell you what Gumps, lets move those offices to Baton Rouge or even new orleans. Staff it with Tiger fans. You will never hear another Tiger fan bitch about anything. But you will.
