Yeah, I see that now. I thought you were responding to the post about Bama winning the SEC in every decade(minus the current one).

2000-2009? Since you are naming decades here.

2002: 10-3
2005: 10-2
2008: 12-2
2009: 14-0

2001: 10-3
2003: 13-1
2005: 11-2
2006: 11-2
2007: 12-2

As good as LSU was in the decade of 2000-2009, they had just one more 10-win season then Alabama in what was arguably our worst decade of football.

It would have been nice, but honestly I'm leaning more toward this.

Wasn't comparing 10 win seasons. Was responding to the "dominance" claim. Bama was not "dominant" that decade. Good? yes. Dominant? No.

We weren't even good from 2000-2009. That was a very mediocre decade.

I know I am in the minority but an SEC title is pretty close to a NC to me. I don't give a shite about other conferences, and don't watch them. I miss the days of the SEC champ going to the Sugar Bowl. That was the mark of a successful season back in my childhood.

Yes. It does suck a little. Winning the SEC is a big deal. We're very proud of our 22 SECC's. However, there is a strong possibility that the team that won Nov5 and the subsequent SECC was also going to lose the NC. No matter which team it was. I think Lou Holtz said it best. "Its better to bet the hunter than the hunted." So, if I can only have one I'll take the BCSNC.

I have to admit that it is kind of strange not being the SEC Champion but being the National Champion? I don't necessarily feel bad about it because of the totally dominant performance on Monday Night.

I think Alabama proved they were more deserving to play for the National Championship than Oklahoma State, Stanford or Oregon. If a plus one comes around soon two SEC teams playing in the National Championship could happen again.

It would have been nice to beat LSU in Nov. and won the SEC championship along with the national championship. But now that the season is ended and Bama is the national champion, I'm very happy. The Crystal Ball is the one that all the teams want at the end of the year.

Considering Bama has 22 SEC championship trophies plus 4 more of the Southern conference trophies (before SEC) laying around, we won't miss one more.

And it is nice to know that we are the only team to beat an SEC team for the Crystal, and with the only shutout in the BCS era too.

it should be this easy every year. throw the 1st game to you Nov 5, let you get overconfident, win the SEC and believe youre invinsible, then we go Mike Tyson on you and stomp on your testicles.

I agree with this. Ecstatic about our season and SEC Champ! Only thing that stings is the way we played on offense 1/9. Glad an SEC team won it for the sixth in a row. It is a bit odd that we are SEC champs and another SEC team is BCS Champs.I was raised on SEC football and the belief that we rarely got NC's (except Bama) due to beating the shite out of each other all season. I think there will be serious consideration for the plus one model and if they do not put in a clause to make same conference teams play in the first round, then we may have many more SEC vs SEC BCS battles because SEC rules baby!

Yeah that's the overall score.

However, y'all lost the SEC West Division Championship game on Nov. 5th.

My opinion is it has been hard to look back at the season with that sparkling crystal trophy shining in their eyes.

In other words I doubt it is such a concern to be bothered by, when the ultimate goal of any football team is to be National Champions. Also, they were able to avenge their only loss in a pretty deciding fashion.
