Do y'all have championship aspirations with Bert? Honestly, you seem beyond thrilled with 0 - 8 and 2 - 6 his first two years in conference. Is shutting out LSU and beating Texas that big of a deal, or do you need more going forward? What are your expectations, say, 3 - 5 years from now?
Seriously, I'm starting to see your point that shutting out lsu wasn't really that big of a deal....
Seriously

It's been said here a thousand times... you've had top 10 recruiting classes for years. Maybe the talent isn't the issue.
Feel free to tell US what your short term prognosis is.

I'm being serious. I don't want championships with Bert. Why would I want that? Stupid question.

Serious question? I don't think so. Do you have championship aspirations with your coach? How many college football fans hope their coach can win a championship there? All of them? Hmmm... maybe all CFB fans are delusional, or maybe the expected response you were trying to illicit from the peanut gallery actually painted everyone with the same brush.
Honestly, you seem beyond ignorant of the recent history and the current situation at Arkansas. Most of us were beyond thrilled at the end of the Nutt era. Most of us were beyond thrilled that despite being told by multiple media sources, even Arkansas media sources, that firing Nutt would set the program back years, Petrino was able to come in and field a competitive team within a few years.
Stating that we seem beyond thrilled with the recent lack of success further proves the point that your initial question wasn't honest at all, which makes you either a liar, or a jackass.
If it is ok with you, can it be alright if we are beyond thrilled with the direction the Arkansas program is headed, jackass? Following the Petrino debacle with John L Smith wasn't a thrilling scenario. Hiring a highly esteemed coach away from another D1 program to implement a complete sea change in philosophy, and having any semblance of success within the first two years certainly is.
While we all know that LSU isn't what it used to be with Saban as coach, talent alone keeps LSU close to the top of the SEC west. Ole Miss having shaken off our old coach, after ridiculing us for booting him, and then promptly experiencing top recruiting classes with resulting game success, which put them near the top of the SEC West last year, has been I'm sure, thrilling for them. Our new coach coming in, righting the ship, and beating those two teams in shutout wins is, in fact, beyond thrilling. Excuse us, jackass.
Texas has experienced their own turmoil recently, but like LSU, is able to rely on a talent pool which is nearly unparalleled. Arkansas and Texas have a long history of hatred and rivalry. Being able to soundly beat Texas any time, much less in a bowl game in front of coveted recruits, by a second year coach cleaning up a disaster of epic proportions, is beyond thrilling to any real Arkansas fans. So again, excuse us for being beyond thrilled, jackass.
I don't think our expectations are much different than any other fans of schools that are not elite in the college football world. We expect to be competitive yearly, and hopefully every few years compete for a west championship.
If all of this is too much for your short little attention span, it is further proof that none of your post was honest. Honest questions call for honest answers. If you can't take the time to read them, well, you're a jackass.

We have expectations to take the next step. Once we take that step we can then take another.
If we keep taking steps then eventually we'll be competing for championships.
This is how most rational Arkansas fans think and is sound logic.
BB has a good strategy.
He is well aware that he is not surrounded by elite talent so if he recruits guys with good talent and coaches them up then we will be right on par with the best in the league.
It takes a few years to get this in place because we need for our "good talent" guys to mature.
When that happens we will have 22-23 year old mature men playing against 18-19 boys with elite talent. It levels the playing field.
As our players mature we should be able to recruit better talent because of more success.
This process is sound and sustainable.

At this point, the fans are looking for stability in the program and an upward trend without any major hiccups along the way. Of course we would all LOVE a championship and want one, but most realize that it won't likely happen for at least a couple years; or until the stability and upward trending "steps" are satisfied. Long term, my expectations are about where the program stays opposed to winning a championship. I'd much rather average 10 wins a year (and be in the NC hunt every few years) than have spotty success and up-and-down years like Auburn with an NC sprinkled in there once. There have been several coaches that proved you can build/sustain a higher-tier program at Arkansas, and I don't expect any less out of BB.

Of course we do. And of course we need more going forward.

And I'd like to win the lottery. But I accept the odds. You should too.
You're a mid-tier program in the a-hole of America. It's why top athletes don't come there. Accept and embrace.

As long as they beat LSU, it's a successful season to them.

Serious question for Arkansas fans ... by NorthGwinnettTigerLow hanging fruit
AND Brah, you would definitely know of low hanging fruit. I mean, seriously. Gus has Christy as a wife. The next to ugliest woman in the sec (Sorry Les, but your wife is definitely more intelligent) You accept the cast offs of everyone (inmates, Parolees, rapists, thieves, drug dealers) you are the little bro to the real Bama Flagship (leaves a mark, trees and all) you are bi polar as heck (Tiger/Eagle/Plainsman?) and act as if you belong constantly among the big 3 (talk the talk, still crawling)
And make fun of those who are building something after a terrible turn of events? You know the type, those who want to be popular so they attack those with less (at the moment) to feel better about themselves and fit in.
Damn, if Aubbbie isn't the fat ugly chick among the other hotties. Get a makeover, have some class, and do something with your lives! Peace

The only difference between Arkansas and Auburn is that you have more talent in a closer proximity.
The athletes that Bama turns down are still pretty good and are able to come there without being too far from home.

Well....
It was 10-10 in SEC play all time until the motorcycle wreck two years ago.
I don't think that type of historical performance is going to keep your "Big 6" membership card punched for much longer.
