Unsure about Showers...everyone says the same things about him (cannon for an arm, good runner) but really haven't seen much of him in actual game time. Davis is supposed to be the future but idk how hr could beat out JM2.

A&M fans sure are a confident group.
Don't conflate confidence with a guarantee of a victory. I think we have a shot to upset is all. Maybe 3 times in 10. Some of the LSU fans seem to think that the Ags lose by 30.

I hate to say this but I think we beat Florida with Showers and are at 6-0 right now. He can make tight throws in coverage. JFF doesn't trust his arm enough.
HOWEVER, I wouldn't trade JFF for Showers. Johnny is just too dang entertaining to watch. And he is generating too much positive publicity and recruiting for the university.

The most likely scenario in my head thinks our defense will dissapoint once again and JFF will not be able to do it all in this one.
LSU wins by a comfortable enough margin, something on the order of 23-34 LSU.

Question is, if your running back you just discovered last week struggles, what is your plan B?
Don't listen to the ESPN crew...we all knew what he was capable of. We've had 3 different backs run for over 120 yards this season in a game. You've obviously not watched a lot of LSU games...

Davis is RS'ing. Great athlete but still raw and A&M has 2 quality backups. Davis actually reminds me a lot of Driskel, at least potential wise.
The offense would look a lot different without Manziel because there are so many designed QB runs with him. Showers is actually quite mobile and he is big but he doesn't have Manziel's 4.4 speed or freakish agility. His main plus is his arm, he can unload a 70 yard spiral without staining though his accuracy has been inconsistent. Essentially if you look at UH's offense from last year or any of the other Air Raid systems (WVU, La Tech, etc.) that is what we would run, Manziel simply is such a weapon with his feet the offense is really unique. No one has really run the Air Raid with a QB that runs 15 times a game by design.
The key for A&M's offense is how much Manziel can learn to properly run the Air Raid which is essentially all about making quick adjustments at the line to see where the mismatch is on D and get the ball to the open guy. If run properly there is always someone open in the Air Raid, at least outside the Red Zone. With Manziel though he is still learning to read D's and make adjustments but his playmaking ability has been enough to make up for it. The question is how far he has come since UF now that he will play another quality defense.
Really against UF the problem in the 2nd half wasn't that UF shut Manziel down, they just got him uncomfortable. Essentially UF dared Manziel to throw deep and he balked because it was pretty solid man to man coverage. Ole Miss actually went the other way and forced him to make short passes.
The key isn't the short or long pass per se, it is if Manziel can see the play at the line and as it develops and then make a confident decision based on that. Against Arkie/La Tech/SC State/SMU that didn't really matter because he was athletic enough to kill them even if he made the wrong read, they just couldn't catch him. That won't be the case this week. LSU won't give him anything easy, he is going to have to work with a much smaller margin of error. The question is how far has he come in 6 games?
I will say this though. Once Manziel masters this offense I don't know who will be able to stop him with the talent A&M is putting around him on offense.

I do not agree.
