Ultimately, that has to be it. It sure didn't look good on paper going into the thing, that's for sure.

y’all killed Georgia who Texas squeaked by. I can see a 2-3 TD LSU win

You going to send each of the LSU players a spirit box or just do one big one, Daniel?

Back on point. I thought Texas had a 25% chance of beating Georgia, and I would give them maybe a 30% chance of beating LSU, but the team will be motivated being at home. I think there is less of a likelihood that LSU will take them lightly than Georgia may have (Kirby's comments to the contrary.)

Pretty stoked about the game.

Real issue here is who could Bama schedule thats not a cakewalk ? 4 or 5 teams ? What are chances they have an open date ? Thats how this happened.

Yeah, we really squeaked by UGA. LSU is about as one dimensional as UGA with a jag HC. We do lose a lot of experience on both sides of the ball but their replacements are arguably better. Our freshman defensive lineman, corners, and linebackers were giving Georgia all they could handle in garbage time lol. I like our chances in this star studded matchup.

I mean, Texas played what, 5 Freshmen on defense?

Sterns and Foster are freaking legit. Cook will be good too. Not sure who else played outside of Ossai.

Collin coming back is huge. If LJ comes back that will be the best WR combo in the country IMO.

LSU is about to become the Giant Killer of Dreams for all these wannabees. They already took out UCF and next year it will be the Cowpokes from Austin!. Coach O sez "We coming!"

LSU will be as balanced as they’ve ever been in 19’.Don’t go getting your hopes up too much sunshine, the Tigers thrive in these type of games.

You mean when UGA was scoring on you and made it a game?

Also you clearly didnt pay attention to LSU much this year if you're still calling us 1-dimensional, our pass game was a bit stronger than run game. We also actually ended up averaging more points per game than Texas did, just for reference

Those two targeting fouls were excellent play calls to get them in scoring position. Also I’m sure the Chattanooga, SE Louisiana, Rice, & Aggy scores have a lot to do with your season scoring average.

LSU is going to push Texas' defense around even more than UCF.

Texas is bringing back a linebacker and two safeties.

The only thing keeping this game exciting is that it's in Austin this year and not BR.

We’ll be fine. You could make the argument that we upgrade every position on defense, with the exception of Gary Johnson and Omenihu. They’ll be green, but I think our offense can carry us through the first half of the season while the kids on D get up to speed. It’s not like LSU is going to give them any crazy offensive looks like they’ll see in Big12 play.

..then why weren't they already starting? That's a typical grasp when losing a lot of people.

Depends on how teams play Texas. Texas does not have an explosive offense, rather relies on the quick game and getting the ball out of Ehlinger's hands. You will see LSU in a lot of press coverage as Texas' offense lives off slants & screens. They will also spy Ehlinger to avoid giving up yards after a busted play, but they will need to bring him down in numbers, as he is quite the load.

We'll be returning our QB, entire OL and entire receiving core that had 400 yards receiving/550 total against the 12th ranked passing defense in UCF. You'll also be getting a 1-2 punch from Clyde Edwards-Helaire and John Emery, which will be an improved backfield from this year. Texas' young safeties showed promise, but your corners are very green, and without a pass rush, could have a very hard time.

DKR will be rocking, no doubt, but LSU has played in "tough" environments. I've been to many big games in DKR, and while loud, it doesn't compare to the likes of Auburn, Florida, etc.

Here's to hoping both teams are at full strength come kickoff

I'd say LSU could get the win, but Texas will put up a fight or win. If you take a look at their recruiting class last year you'll see a focus on defense at the top. I think they're going to at least try to play respectable defense as a Big XII team.
