I think he's a great coach, but you can't ignore how bad the current state of the SEC east is.

Muschamp's first year was 2011:
@ #3 Bama
@ #1 LSU (back to back weeks)
@ #24 Auburn
#22 UGA - ended up being better
@ #13 SC

You have to separate the trolls from reality.

Think about it. A sane person would make no such claim as there's not enough evidence to support that claim.

Now, can you say Mac has the potential to be the second best coach in the league. I think a mild argument could be made but I wouldn't try to do that as I've never gotten too much in the future reading game.

There's no way to know if he wins 0 or 3 NCs. Hell, he could get fired for sleeping with a player's GF in the future. How would I know that?

Hey frickface. Let's talk about Lester's "multiple" Championships less the ones he won with Saban's players since we are running around here cherry picking coaches and seasons to compare Mac to.

I'm waiting for your list.

He's not even a LSU fan you obsessed retard.

The East is and has been down. We know that.

This thread was just correcting the comparisons being made between Mac's and Boom's first years at UF. Nothing more.

His first year could be a fluke. Gus Malzahn's seems to be. Two crappy seasons followed his first. Don't get too excited. This is largely Muschamp's players on that team.

Except McElwains recruits on offense are doing the work...

Please when is the last time UF had a terrible defense?

YOU SAID SOMETHING I DON'T LIKE!!!@21!! If you can't deal with people's differing opinions, go somewhere else. You can't make it here. For now, just go cry somewhere else.

How many of UF's starters are McElwain's recruits? His only class would be the 2015 one and it has an asterisk next to it.

Very true. But I just don't see the Malzahn comparison for these reasons. First Mack isn't running a spread offense which requires a freak athlete at QB to work. Also CGM had recruited a lot of AU players on that team from before correct? Mac got a bunch of guys whom people were saying were largely scrubs at the beginning of the season.

My point is, yes it could be a fluke but Malzahns 1st season in not comparable.

The OL and Callaway, the offenses best playmaker.

The two RBs behind Kelvin Taylor as well. One or two TEs. I'm sure I'm missing some.

The entire offensive line are freshman?

Callaway looks like a good one.

No, some are transfers as well. I think we've played 4 different true FR in the OL this year. I know 3 have started at different times depending on injuries at the time.

ETA: 3 have started in the same game.

I've been around here for a while buddy. The only reason I popped off in that guy was for not adding anything to the conversation besides stating Mac lost to LSU, which everyone knows and had nothing to do with the topic. Unless he meant losing to Les Miles as an insult which I don't think it is.

What you did was not just pathetic, it was stupid. That guy wasn't even an LSU fan. Whatever, guy. If a message board makes you that upset, you should probably find another hobby.

Some have said you have to look all the way back to Muschamp to find a UF coach that has performed as well as Mac so far in their first year.

Have not seen people refer to first year success. I have seen people respond to y'all crowning him as the second or third best coach in the league by pointing to Boom's 12-2 season. We have seen plenty of guys catch lightening in a bottle in this league. Only a handful have shown the ability to have success year in and year out. I think Mac has as good a chance to do that as any other newer head coach out there. We'll see in five or six years not five or six weeks.

My point was that McElwain had the same record, losing to the same team as Malzahn did in 2013 (taking over 2 bad teams). If you can win the SEC and get into the playoff, the comparisons will probably continue. Sorry you don't get how that might be relevant.

Link? For real. I'd like to see if it's sane Gator or one of our trolls.
