Seems to be some confusion about comparing Mac's first year to Boom's

This ought to clear it up.
Some have said you have to look all the way back to Muschamp to find a UF coach that has performed as well as Mac so far in their first year. This unfortunate and very inaccurate comparison is being used to show UF fans that they should slow their roll when speaking of Coach Mac. Let's just look at the facts.
Muschamp year 1: 7-6 [3-5 in SEC] (not 12-2 as has been stated)
Coach Mac year 1: incomplete but currently 7-1
So, if you have to look further back to find another head coach with similar success in year one because it's clearly not Muschamp, who can you actually compare to?
Zook? Nope 8-5
Urban? perhaps 9-3
Spurrier? perhaps 9-2
So, at worst, you'll be able to compare Mac's first year to either Spurrier or Urban. Not bad.
Carry on.

doesn't take much to prompt a response thread from UF fans these days.

The response wasn't to you specifically actually. This PSA was apparently needed.
And, if not for trolling it would actually be a decent topic. But alas.

And my productivity goes way down again.

And Muschamp's 12-2 was about as ugly a 12-2 as you'll ever see.

I was happy when Florida hired Muschamp. Just did not think his resume supported getting that position.
Mac is a different story. I hate to say it, but I suspect we have another Saban in the league. To win the SEC, LSU probably has to beat one or both of them in the regular season and Mac again in the SECCG.
Never felt that kind of concern about Muschamp.

True. Further in hindsight Dan Quinn go nowhere near the credit he deserved for that nasty defense. Look what he did with the Seahawks. Also, that defense was loaded, LOADED with Meyer's guys. Easely, Floydd, Bostwick, Jenkins, Floydd etc.

Let's compare him to Gus then. Hell, they both lost to LSU too.

Why? Gus didn't coach the Gators. The incorrect comparison was made to a former UF coach to show that Mac wasn't good I suppose.
You could start a thread though and compare him to Gus, Saban, Sumlin, Carroll, Richt, etc.
Might be interesting. Just don't know how you could end the thread with so many coaches to compare to throughout history.
Mac never was a HS gimmick coach so I don't think comparing him to Gus would really be all that useful. Feel free though.

I remember how awestruck all the UF and Bama fans were with Muschamp's 2nd season too!
I'm sure he will win multiple championships based on almost one season's resume!

How'd Muschamp do in year 2?

Look at McElwains offense vs. Muschamps offense.
Case closed.

Hey frickface. Let's talk about Lester's "multiple" Championships less the ones he won with Saban's players since we are running around here cherry picking coaches and seasons to compare Mac to.
I'm waiting for your list.

Who has said any of that? I certainly have not.
It's clearly too early to make any judgments about what Mac will or won't do.
I'm just happy at the on and off field improvements our new head coach has made. It's night and day different.

When did Muschamp coach offense? shite I though he was a defensive guy the whole time. Maybe that's why we haven't improved much this year.

Year two he lucked his way to 12-2 and and finished the year getting embarrassed by UL. You knew that.

HC is responsible for just the D? Who knew?

Maybe you haven't but several posters here have already proclaimed him the 2nd best coach in the SEC. Bama fans try to claim him as an extension of themeslves (as they did with Muschamp).
He may be a fantastic coach, I'm just saying one season doesn't make a career...and I say this having seen it happen twice in the past 5 years at my own school.

And yes he's in charge of the entire team, but let's not call it 'Muschamp's offense'. He made 3 hires and they all turned out poorly for one reason or another.

Hi frickface. I don't have a clue what you are talking about. Simmer down.
I'm sorry I'm not ready to nominate your head coach for the hall of fame after a partial season.
