It is always great when umps call balls and strikes based on your pitching reputation.
Anyway, LSU is now bringing in end of the line bullpen guys. Mainieri knows he can save guys, come through the losers bracket and beat State with no problems without Stratton out there.

He's probably gonna use every bullpen guy for one inning to keep them fresh

We really don't have any other pitchers. Stratton is the sole reason for the team era in the mid 2's.

i dont think he wants to tax anyone longer than a couple of innings basically. So a lot of guys will get used i think, just not very long.

I think it was a mistake to use Stratton today for MSU. Probably going to need him later in the tournament and they most likely could have won this with their 2nd or 3rd ace. Regardless MSU is gonna have to win the whole thing to even have a slim chance at hosting but will see.

There won't be nearly as large a gap in the pitching matchup in any subsequent game. In fact, LSU will probably have the pitching advantage.

I believe the thinking is use Stratton today he may be ready to go Sunday (keep in mind I say may) if we make it that far. Personally I would have thrown Graveman. He has been throwing great here lately.
