Holy shite. I had no idea we had a bass fishing team.

And a disc golf team. Because the two go hand in hand obviously.

Where's gymnastics and softball? Did you really count fishing?

Didn't count any womens "sports". That just goes to show how bad the Bama program is if you're needing to trump up your index scores with womens sports. Kinda like football championships huh?

Seventh, Alabama only cares about football, if they had to do it clean they'd be Miss. St. Bama is the most overrated program in college sports.

This part is spot on, though.

If your going to call it a program index, shouldn't you use the whole program? If you count fishing, can we count hockey as well?

Actually went to SEChockey.com and went to the hockey rankings, it wasn't laid out very clearly and the rankings were regional not national.

I guess Bama, MSU, Ark's intramural hockey teams are DIII, and Missouri is in a diff. region as are Texas schools.

Not sure which SEC teams have intramural hockey.

Made NCAA postseason in baseball (Omaha) and basketball as well as a bowl game for football. Guess we should just give up since our bass fishing rank is nonexistent

All but LSU and Kentucky have ice hockey teams. SEC hockey teams
Don't know about Texas A&M and Missouri.

I was surprised to see them rank in as many sports as they do, but the important ones they suck arse in. The revenue sports A&M lags way behind in.

That's par for the course for Bill Byrne (AD). He overpays for the non-revenue sports and goes to the flea market for the revenue sports.

Again your rankings are gheye as well. You are assigning a team that is not ranked according to hand selected polls 50 points. Big difference between being ranked say 26th in something and then 200. They both get 50 points though.

I feel like collegiate bass fishing is gonna be the next baseball.

Every super fan online claims it's hugely popular nationwide but IRL it couldn't further from the truth.

And I love both baseball and fishing, but just saying.

You bash 'Bama because they are overrated and you want to show we don't care about anything but football. However, you don't show two of our biggest sports outside of football. Troll on.

ETA: You add a club sport, which hell you could add Quidditch Rankings for LSU. If you just mean major MENs sports then thats different. But, you can't base an entire AD dept and then leave out two top sports for a school and then say don't care about anything else, either. You add Gymnastics/Womens Basketball it would significantly change the outcome of the index. I think. UGA/UF/Ark/'Bama are all top Gymnastic teams. There are a lot of shitty Women Bballs teams.

The only womens sports I might consider would be cheerleading and pageants.

ETA: gymnastics and hoops would help Arkansas, our volleyball has become pretty middle of the pack and the softball is noncompetitive. Hell in Arkansas slow pitch was sanctioned as a championship until the late 90's no HS played fast pitch.

If you'd like to do a women's index feel free, but I don't think women's sports have a role because if not for title IX most of them would club level only.
