re: SECr straw poll: if DeBoer didn’t have 67 wins at NAIA, how bad would Bama be melting?

Yeah, Sonny Dykes took his team to the national championship. Then fell off a cliff his second season. DeBoer went 11-2 in his first season and improved upon that in his second going 14-1. He went 25-3 and was riding a 21 game winning streak while going 5-0 against the "can't miss" candidates, Lanning and Sark. I think Alabama will happily take its chances

Sioux Falls (2005-2009):
67-3 overall record. Obviously CFB was a completely different game at that point in time, at the NAIA level which is below FBS, FCS, and D2, where they were beating mighty programs such as the Lindenwood College for Women, Nebraska Wesleyan, Dakota Weslayan, Doane, Dordt, and a bunch of other colleges you’ve never heard of.
Did DeBoer compete in those leagues with SEC caliber 5 star players? Or did he compete with players similar in ability to the other schools? If he had SEC caliber 5 stars, then I agree with you. As an Alabama fan I'm also ECSTATIC that he was able to recruit those 5 stars away from the big schools and get those recruits to play for his small school. If he didn't have those 5 Stars, I'm also VERY HAPPY because he was able to win ALOT against comparable competition.

2. BK already had a top 10 program with talent and consistently lost the big games against other talented teams.

Notre Dame isn't really a top 10 program anymore, they've been coasting on their reputation for awhile now.

They haven't managed to win a NY6 bowl in 30 years, blame BK for that if you want but no one else during that period has done it either. BK got them to a NY6 bowl in 2022 before handing it over to Freeman and Freeman choked it away in epic fashion.

Being a "blue blood" doesn't really matter anymore.

Why do people act like Dykes took Vanderbilt to the National Championship Game?

Why are Alabama fans pretending Washington is some huge underdog story then?

That's the point, I think DeBoer is a good coach because he's won everywhere he's been, not because of the playoff win.
