The talent level at DB is at an all time low. Bama and LSU lost way too much talent. Reid has regressed and Simon is just not good. Carolina usually has good DBs, but not this year.

MSU secondary was exposed earlier, is UF the only team with good DBs?

Four of the top five rated DBs by Scout, for the NFL draft, are from the SEC.

We've been spoiled by players like Patrick Peterson.

Maybe DB play is down in all of college football then. UF seems like the only team with a good secondary in SEC.

I think defensive play in general is down across the country. The best skill players are playing offense.

Bama secondary just seems so un athletic this year. Lester has always lacked speed, but with sunseri and Perry also playing its just unimpressive group overall from an athleticism point. Millner and Ha Ha are good athletes, but the others are meh. Jarrick Williams was a huge loss this year he was an elite athlete.

LSU secondary looks bad as well Loston, Simon, Reid have all under performed. It isn't from lack of athleticism like Bama they just lost Cooper.

I think UF has the best secondary in the SEC this year they have the best talent at Safety in Elam and the best CB tandem.

UGA secondary with Swann coming on the second half has been pretty good.

Robert Lester is a solid safety, but he weaknesses were always covered up by Mark Barron. Outside of Lester, we are very young at safety. The CBs lack game-ready depth. Dee Milliner is good, but not consistent enough. But he'll likely go first round all the same. I'm not comfortable with Belue and Fulton being the corners in 2013, but the safeties will be great with Clinton-Dix and Collins.

UGA Safteies have been stout at the least. CB play has been spotty, but Swann has come on very strong from the UF game on

UGA has a solid safety duo in Rambo and Williams with decent corners (Swann is a boss).

Alabama misses the frick out of Mark Barron and Dre Kirkpatrick, no doubt. Dre locked down his matchups and got nasty with em'. Mark Barron was an enforcer over the middle. Neither Belue or Perry do those things. Milliner plays as well as Dre did, but he can't be on both sides of the field at once.

Bama misses Hightower, Barron, Upshaw, and Kirkpatrick they all were physical as hell and had a certain swag about them. Perry, Sunseri, and Lester lack athleticism.

I cant remember the last time AU had a DB that was a household name. We have been lacking in recruiting in this area since before Tubs.

We have lost some talent, but my biggest concern coming in was losing Cooper (the DB coach).

I agree with Eric Reid underperforming. especially as I watch this Ole Miss game. Hopefully he will stay another year bc of it. He's blown it on 2 plays today that shouldve gone for 8-10 yrds and instead went for long touchdowns. tigers look like doo doo butter.
