1A Aggies
1B Barners
3A BAMA by virtue of beating an big xii team
3B LSU by having to come from behind from so far
5 State
6 Ole Miss. That was a BAD first half.
7 Arky. You lost. Everyone else didn't

After week 1, there you have it. None of it will make a difference in the end.

A&M
Bama
Auburn
LSU
Miss State
Ole Miss
Arkansas

This is based on who I think would win if they played today.

It's not end of year, it's after week #1. There will be major changes the first 5 weeks in the West. I'm not sure most fans can handle ranking teams by how they perform week to week. National polls rank a program with very little change until you lose.

Both Bama and Auburn struggled with unranked teams
LSU looked like shite for 75% of their game (they were really struggling). Auburn ended up winning the game 45-21, and completely shut down Arkansas in the second half. Also, we could've easily scored 52 points as we ran the time out inside Arkansas 10 yard line.

Auburn should have been winning at half time 24-21 but we missed a field goal. Take into account that John Mincy, Nick Marshall and Robenson Therezie didn't start the game. Jeremy Johnson looked damned good, though.

Didn't Bama play a Big 12 team?

Mine is:

1. A&M
2. Auburn
3. Alabama
4. LSU
5. Mississippi State
6. Ole Miss
7. Arkansas

It's a weird situation for us, however, because I still kind of think that we finish 3rd in the West. We win games in ugly fashion, but only the W matters at the end for standings. I don't think A&M wins the West either.

All the teams are so close. So I predict one of the Big 3 win the West.

Those 3 teams all make their own luck so well.

Oh man, the rest of the Aggies aren't gonna like that prediction. I too think they'll finish fourth or fifth though.

I would put LSU and Bama above Auburn,

Did you watch their QB situation at all? I'd be shocked if they don't lose at least 5 games this year

Which is why I find most of these polls silly. The two teams in the SEC championship last year started the season unranked. Auburn struggled with a poor Wazzu team to start the season and ended up playing for a championship.

Team's get better as things start to click and new guys get in more starts.

Plus we have no good how these week 1 opponents are going to actually turn out looking like down the road.

What in Bama's performance on Saturday leads you to believe they would beat Auburn if they played this week?

238 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. I'll allow it.

Auburn- they're the defending champs and pulled away in the second half. They're 1 until someone proves otherwise

Ags

Tie between OM, MSU, LSU, Bama- hard to differentiate between these teams right now based on who they played. They could end be 8 win teams or 10 win teams honestly

That is a good a SWAG as anybody's.

In general, all the west teams took care of business.
Arkansas lost a road game so I don't think that is unexpected or shocking.

Bama has a FG kicker. Bama can run the ball. So the QB is not going to be in DAC in NYC picking up a trophy. He's got enough skill guys to make some plays. They will be contenders.

LSU will get better. The sky is not falling. They have horses and will be in the race.

aTm and AU can score. They will compete, but their defenses need to improve week by week.

Ole Miss and MSU have playmakers and are capable of pulling an upset of any of the above on a given day. Bo Wallace is like Stephen Garcia without the substance abuse; when he's good- he's really good, but he can lay eggs at anytime. Dak is big strong and fast. He has some playmakers too. Both have physical defenses.

Arkansas is physical. RBs are tough and fast. I think they can win up to 2 or maybe 3 SEC games. Their schedule is really tough. Allen is improved at QB and if WR quit dropping the ball, they may go 6-6 or 7-5. I guess 5-7 may be more likely, but whatever.

If anybody goes 8-0 in West- CROWN'EM!

45-21 does not seem like Auburn struggled. The defense looked rough in the first half. But, Arkie only rushed for 1 yard in the second half. I think we got the d straightened out at half.

At first, after the game, I thought that LSU was gonna be a doormat this season for the west. They looked absolutely terrible.

Then, I started thinking about it, and I can't remember a time in the past 3 years they have not looked absolutely terrible. They just play nasty games and somehow get wins. And, like always, towards the end of the season their QB will find some kind of pulse and not be a total frickup.

So I tend to agree LSU will still be in the 3rd/4th in the west and finish the season ranked....at a minimum.

It's impossible to rank anyone after week 1, or for that matter week's 2 and 3.
