Uh, when was this said, if it was said at all?

It was said.

The Burton thing has been blown out though. He was asked who he felt had the better D between Bama and LSU and he said Bama. It's not like he just went out and started spewing shite. It was said in an interview.

Nothing really, but it could still come across as negative, for a team team that needs a little motivation in a game like this.

quote:

Alabama is just Alabama," Mackey told the Clarion-Ledger. "They've got a real good defense from the D-line to the secondary. There are still, I'm not going to say weaknesses, you know, they ain't Superman. So they can be beat."

That Bama is not unbeatable.

Bama fans act as if he said:
"Bama sucks. They are the worst team ever. We are going to run up and down the field on them. Also Bear Bryant is overrated and Nick Saban sucks."

if he was implying a joke of a team like Ole Miss could beat Bama... then thats exactly what he was saying

Bama doesn't lose to teams that lose to Vanderbilt twice in a row. Its insulting to even suggest that is a possibility

Go ask the 2008 Florida team how that worked out for them.

It would have been better for him just to use the normal "poor-mouthing" approach, and kept his thoughts to himself. If I was an opposing QB, I wouldn't want to say anything that could remotely be taken differently than intended. Alabama's defense if fully intent on inflicting as much pain as possible this season.

2008 Ole Miss and 2011 Ole Miss don't have much in common.

I still don't see him leaving Louisiana. But I'll gladly be wrong.

yep, they hadn't dropped 2 in a row to Vandy back in 2008?

or had they? you never know with Ole Miss. They can find ways to suck even worse than your wildest sucking dreams

2008 Ole Miss was a good football team. Very solid on both lines of scrimmage. The lack of good line play alone is why Ole Miss sucks so bad in 2011.
