Well, there was that whole J'ville St. incident...and let's not forget the Maroons losing to Maine and UAB. And man, I wish Troy could have held on in BR.

utah's beatdown of alabama in the sugar bowl was a monumental embarrassment to the sec. the loss to louisiana monroe was pretty bad too.

In all fairness to bama, Utah had a damn good team that year. On the same token, I hate that we choked against OSU, but I feel that they had a shot against any team in the nation last year.

To AU's credit USF was pretty good that year with M. Grothe at qb and M. Ford at rb.

SEC Teams that have been the biggest embarassment to the SEC
by losing to non SEC conference teams over the last 10 years.
1.Tennessee
2. Arkansas
Everyone who claims Arkansas is an embarassment for losing to tOSU is an idiot. That was a better tOSU team than either LSU or FL faced.
Here's a suggestion moron. If you are going to try to flame, at least know what the hell you're talking about.
The true embarassment was 1992, Citadel. I was there and am still pissed about it.

Doubtful. UF played a team with a Heisman-winning QB who was being talked about seriously as one of the greatest teams of all time ( ).
They had James Laurinitis, Vernon Gholston, Malcolm Jenkins, Antonio Smith, Anthony Gonzales, Ted Ginn Jr, and the aforementioned Troy Smith. That's a damn good team. A fair number of them were also on the next year's team - Jenkins, Gholston, Laurinitis, and they added 'Beanie' Wells and Brian Hartline.
Yes, last year's tOSU team was very good, but they weren't as good as those teams. Unfortunately, last year's ARK wasn't NEARLY as good as '06 UF or '07 LSU.

You're probably right but time will tell for sure. The Heisman is not an accurate barometer for the quality of the individual player. Troy Smith was overrated, played on a good team in a mediocre conference. Pryor is a better player, probably not a better leader. Hayward may better than all of the players listed. Again, time will tell how the two squads compare.
But using your logic: 07 LSU lost to 07 Arkansas in Baton Rouge thus 07 Arkansas > 07 LSU. So is 07 Arkansas > 10 Arkansas/10 tOSU/07 tOSU? (no, I don't believe the 10 Arkansas is greater than those LSU or FL teams, but those teams were not immortal)
The main point, losing to tOSU in the Sugar Bowl this year isn't an embarrassment, do you disagree?

I for one disagree, Arkie had every chance to win that game, it was a terrible embarassment the worst I can remember in along time. Arkie should take this chance to move to the little 12 or whatever they are going to call it. We can pick up a real team that wont embarass us on a national stage.

from my perspective it's alabama
La monroe, NIU, Utah, and the rest i've blocked out. but i'm probably more critical of our program than another program because it matters to me.
Utah was a huge embarrassment because that was an Alabama team that was 5 minutes from playing in the national championship. We deserve every ridicule we get from that game. Other than that we have been stellar as of late in big games against OOC opponents.
