Mullen imo is doing a good job considering it's Miss. St.....but this basically means he has zero quality wins the past 5 years.

I question Mullen's playcalling. If he let someone else call the plays, MSU could actually win

Of course Alabama's record makes everybody else in the SEC look like a bunch of little shits

Were you using the '13 season as part of those numbers???
I don't believe it is since we don't have the final BCS rankings for 2013.

ETA- after the final rankings come out I'll update it.

That's not 100% true. They've had some decent wins and maybe because they beat a team, said didn't finish in the top 25. Like Ole Miss this year. They were a fringe top 25 team all year but State's victory over them sealed the deal on them being left out. I'm sure there are a few other examples.

Yeah that's the one, thanks for the link. I actually got the numbers from someone that posted the numbers on facebook and I didn't feel like clicking the link.

Alabama, South Carolina and Stanford each have nine wins over the last three seasons.
Tied for second nationally! Any time you can be on a list with the LSUs, Bamas, and Stanfords of the world you must be doing something right. And ahead of teams like Notre Dame, Oregon, FSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Best win is against Rich Rod's 7 win Michigan team...or this year against Ole Miss. Not exactly amazing wins. I'll admit they have come close against some good teams.

The top 3 teams are from the SEC West...

Vanderbilt: 1-15 (.063)
Kentucky: 1-16 (.059)
Tennessee: 1-21 (.045)
Mississippi State 0-24 (.000)

...and 3 of the 4 bottom teams are from the SEC East. Must be nice for the SEC East's upper tier teams to have so many bad teams in their division to pad their win totals against. Might be time to realign the divisions to balance things out a bit.

Bob Stoops may have a point.

Could you do a similar analysis for the current members of the Big XII-2+2-2?

This isnt any indication of conference strength. If Alabama goes 8-0 in the SEC, it adds 8 losses for the conference vs top 25 teams and 2 wins.

So having really good teams means most of the teams in the conference will have losing records.

Youd have to look at records versus out of conference top 25 teams only

Exactly. Arky grabbed two losses vs. top 25 opponents in '11 in conference, but roflstomped a top 10 Big 12 team in the Cotton Bowl.

But they may have deserved to be. Georgia regressed through the season. Auburn improved through the season. The quality of football Auburn played in week one was not worthy of a #2 ranking. Now it is.

It took a hail mary for Auburn to beat Georgia in the second to last week of the regular season.
