Gotta go with Coach Mason as biggest disappointment. I'm not getting down on him per se -- he had a tough job -- but some of his decisions were baffling. I'm talking Les Miles-level baffling.

What record does he need to keep his job next year?

For A&M the answer for both is Trill.

For the SEC:

SURPRISE
Sims is the surprise of the year. The preseason narrative was that Sims couldn't hit the side of a barn and Coker was needed to save the day. Sims turned out to be as good or better than any Saban QB at Bama.
Hon. Mention: Nick Chubb. What might have been if Gurley had been caught up in autographgate prior to Week1? Chubb might have gone over 2k.

DISAPPOINTMENT
Gurley is the disappointment. He went over 750 yds in 5 games. He was a Heisman finalist shoe-in at that pace. The NCAA robbed all of us of a very special season.
Hon. Mention: Gabe Wright, a preseason 1st team all-SEC pick had no more than 3 tackles in any game this year, and only 1 sack, which came against San Jose St. He was the anchor of a D that gave up 149.5 rushing YPG.
