I know Alabama can, because they did under Wimp Sanderson and to some degree under Gotfried.

We kick arse at the other two big sports(baseball and football) but we are a national shame as a whole in basketball right now. Besides UF and UK we have nothing. What schools do you think have the potential to be a perennial NCAA sweet 16

Speak for yourself and UT hasn't been good at anything in a long long time...don't drag everybody else with you

Alabama had a hell of a team in like 2004 or so. Made a nice run that year.

You're preaching to the preacher about us in football. I'd say from 2005-2011 we had a damn good basketball program though.

I could envision Frank Martin turning you guys around. USC is a tough job but Martin has a great track record.

Yea I agree. 40 min of Hell was a great 30 for 30. Surprised at y'all's suckage in the recent past and how Anderson hasn't produced much yet at Arkansas.

The rest have either horrible facilities or no fan support.

While Coleman has some issues compared to the newer arenas, Bama has brand new training and practice facilities and has very good fan support for a team that has only been to ONE NCAA Tournament in the last seven seasons (including current season).

Teams that should be ranked almost every season-
Kentucky, Florida, Mizzou, LSU, Arkansas.

Teams that should be in the tourney almost every year, but not necessarily ranked- Vandy, Tennessee, Alabama.

Teams that should make runs at times and get in- everybody else.

LSU and Arky are both currently under-performing at a high (low?) level.

Did you really just spam the board with 7 links in 7 different posts in a matter of a few minutes?

Vandy could be a poor mans Duke with their school prestige, home court advantage, and the SEC label.

The comparison (even if "Vandy" and "poor man's..." don't really compute) makes sense. The last 2 years have been a cluster of losing our top 6 players, growing pains, and suspensions/transfers/kid going pro to stay close to mom. Since last season, we've lost 6 guys without having a single senior or NBA pick. 2 starting PGs have been kicked off for grades(1 will return next season). 1 went pro in native Germany to be close to his mother when she was diagnosed with cancer. 1 starting center tore his ACL. 2 transferred.

We're basically at our second string to start every game at everywhere except PF (who was probably going to be the starting SF). The next class does not encourage me though. Stallings has got to get some talented recruits ASAP.
