They are both conference championships. Obviously the regular season one is more impressive, but the regular season champ & the tourney champ are both conference champs.

I get it cuz lot more games played but its like declaring warriors the champs, or a pennant race, in my eyes.. Wish they would change it to just tourney, dislike both but it is what it is

the regular season champion is the SEC champion.

the tournament champion is the SEC tournament champion. that's the way it's always been.

when counting sec championships for each school, regular season championships are what is counted.

It should, but they use it as a means to justify these conference tournaments and give teams an incentive. I'm with you...the regular season should have sorted all of it out already.
