Season is more impressive, but A&M was one loss away from both. Hard to discredit A&M or MSU.

Season champ is conference champ.

Season champ is conference champ. And it makes sense especially for baseball where if you're not playing for seeding/hosting/a bid then teams rest their pitching.

SEC recognizes both.
But if you're a Tennessee fan you go by self proclaimed pre season champions.
In which case Tennesee wins by a landslide.

Tournament Champion is Automatic Bid to NCAA Tournament.

Always Conference.. This is not even debatable!!!

I think regular season is more impressive because they had to play the gauntlet of SEC teams in 3 game series. But the tournament champ is impressive because they had to do it in such a short amount of time with little to no rest. Both are great accomplishments.

Per SEC handbook. If your team wins regular season then you are SEC champs. If your team wins tourney then you are champs. If your team wins neither then you don't give a damn either way. Page 114. Look it up.

A team gets a ring for winning either one, but the regular season champ gets a league championship ring, the tourney winner a tourney winner ring. With LSU having won 11 tourney championships & several league championships in the same period, there were yrs when LSU teams got 2 rings in a season. Both are great accomplishments, as the league tourney is usually harder than any regional tourney, hands down. But winning the league title over the entire field is a great accomplishment, too. More so for most.

It's like basketball, the regular season determines the overall conference champion, but the tournament champion gets the autobid to the tournament.
That's as it should be too, it's far too easy for hypothetically a bad team to luck into a tournament championship (it's rare but it happens occasionally) but that can never happen for a regular season championship.

There is a conference champion, and a tournament champion. You don't get to play the conference in the tournament, and you don't get to win a tournament during the conference season....

IIRC:
Season champ = champ
Tournament champ = auto bid
Season champ = champ
Tournament champ = auto bid

shouldn't the auto-bid go to the conference champ, tho? your logic seems to contradict your conclusion.
