Neat, but the ranking system is whacked and we've played one of our permanent rivals (Vandy) less then anyone else has, except maybe Mizzou and A&M. Not complaining, because I'd love to play Vandy every year, but we've only played them 6 times since '92.

one of the many reasons I hate all this realignment to begin with. Mizzou and A&M are great universities (as well as Arky and USEe), but I would rather downsize conferences. I guess this is an impossibility.

Lmao at the suggestion of Duke being in the SEC. That's about as much of a cultural fit as Dartmouth or UPenn would be.

Dukies don't give a shite about football. No tailgate scene, can't fill half of their tiny stadium and 90% of their alums live in NY or MA. Also an extremely liberal student body.

Would be interesting to see a school with with an enrollment of ~25% Asian travel to LSU or Bama or Ole Miss, though.

Spending most of my formative years growing up in NC, I'd MUCH prefer to have NCSU in the Conference than UNC or Duke.

And my brother got his M.S. from VPI so that one is a no brainer for me.

So my suggestion for a tweak on the division names:

I propose we call the new SEC East pod the "Poultry division".

Why?

VT's and SC's mascots are both Poultry.
NCSU is the land grant university int the 3rd largest Poultry producing state.
And we all know that Gator tastes like chicken....

The pac 12 would definitely go with schools from Texas over Boise or Nevada

Pac-12 should take Texas and Hawaii. They could use the Rainbow Warriors to help their push into Asian markets.

However... You may want to look at it if the expansion was more west than east... I could see TCU, Houston or TCU Baylor... Give Vandy a couple of Private schools and make one of them their permanent year end battle...

Yeah, I considered that, and I think that TCU would be an awesome addition (along with maybe WVU, Baylor, or even Texas). But based on how the last expansion went, I think that opening up TV markets is going to be consideration 1, 2, and 3 in the expansion. And Texas is already covered by TAMU and WVU is small. So I think North Carolina and Virginia (both huge TV markets) are really where the expansion will realistically be.

That gif is fricked up... but yes get Mizzou the hell outta here, and replace them with a Clemson, TCU, Florida State... really anyone but Mizzou.

it cracks me up how SEC ppl think that ACC schools are dying to be in the SEC. it is just a matter of 'adding them'

i have never seen any evidence of that.

I like the OP idea. Everything stays intact. Drop an OOC game and have a semifinal and final

Have yourself a beer because you deserve it. I am a fan of this. Fantastic job picking the pods based on tiers and location. I think you did pretty well with the permanent rivals from other pods for the majority of teams except I think Ole Miss and LSU need to play each other every year. I like the idea of adopting the NFL type scheduling for OOC games. That could make great matchups and keep everybody's SOS a little more even and fair. As an Arkansas fan I am very pleased with the proposal. Arkansas would play the three teams WE have the most history with in the confernece (A&M,LSU,Ole Miss). Arkansas would also play mizzou every which just makes sense moving forward.

I like the idea of having a semi championship games before the final, but until every conference adopts our system and structure, we should continue to use or current system.

Question..Would you propose this for just football or all sports?
