Actually a really great idea. I know it's been proposed but this layout is awesome.

Please, no permanent opponents from other pods. THAT'S where the unfairness is in this system. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

I'd be fine with dropping those and playing everyone every 2 years, but there's just no way to preserve rivalries without them. Look at what has already happened to cross-division games in the name of preserving those rivalries. Bama, Tennessee, Auburn, and Georgia have made it clear that they won't support any plans that don't preserve the Bama-Tenn and Aub-GA annual games.

I have a feeling that there are other rivalries that would have similar issues if they were on the chopping block (Fla/Ga, to name one).

Noticed we haven't had a Mizzou comment on here and I just want to apologize for that....we're too busy out here in the west being racist and all....

We will rejoin the conversations again shortly.

have an upvote for taking the time to really think on this and try to come up with a fair and equitable solution.

There will always be some complaints but for the most part I thought your proposal was pretty good. With a few tweaks here and there I could definitely see it as something to build on.

Just for shits and giggles send it to a coordinator at the conference office just so some eyeballs get on it. They can flush out all of the problems and at least have something to think work with for the future.

I mean, you wouldn't want to do all that work just for an upvote lol

LSU's three permanent opponents are Tier 1 according to your presentation.

Seems legit.

Yeah, I did that to avoid anyone claiming that I was just trying to make LSU's schedule easier. The SEC Rant seems to have an obsession with LSU and schedules.

I think I'm gonna change around Bama for Ole Miss like some people have mentioned though. So then it will be 2 tier 1 teams and a tier 4 team.

UNC and Duke will never be split. It's like the Alabama-Auburn, OSU-Mich, of the basketball world

I'm wondering if it would make more sense to either have UF, UGA, USCe, & NCST in and eastern pod and UT, VT, UK, & Vandy in a northern pod; or UF, UGA, USCe, & Vandy in an east pod and have UT, VT, NCST, & UK in a northern pod.

If you have UF, UGA, USCe, & NCST in and eastern pod and UT, VT, UK, & Vandy in a northern pod, then the permanents could be UF/UT, NCST/VT, UGA/Vandy, and USCe/UK. The problem wuth this lineup is that the eastern pod is pretty darn tough, and the northern pod is pretty weak.

If you have UF, UGA, USCe, & Vandy in an east pod and have UT, VT, NCST, & UK in a northern pod, then the permanents in those two pods could be UF/UT, Vandy/UK, UGA/VT, and USCe/NCST. The down side with this one is that you would be losing the UT/Vandy in state game, but how much if a rivalry is that really?

Also, the western & southern pod permanents could probably switch out LSU/Bama & OM/Arky with LSU/OM & Arky/Bama.

And I've always thought that TAMU & VT would need to be permanent rivals since they both have the military ties.

If I had to choose, I would rather get the Auburn game back every year.

Because in this proposal you would need a permanent rival from each pod. LSU took Tennessee. Honestly I wouldn't mind A&M taking Tennessee and Georgia taking LSU. Seems a bit better, IMO

LSU had a long standing annual game with Kentucky every year for a good portion of our history. That would make more sense from a historical perspective, but I'd have no problem with Tennessee or Georgia either. We haven't really been given the opportunity to play those two much.

and HELL NO to NC State and VT.

I still think the SEC Network and our national exposure negates regional media markets. We could add Notre Dame and get more traction because they are nationally televised each week.
