Can't see Bauta doing anything other than sweet punt fakes. Maybe he's the new JT III?

I don't see him winning the job either. He won the 3rd QB job this year though so I figure he has at least a slight chance. Certainly worth mentioning

The fake potential with Bauta is high, though. We probably should get on that

There's your problem. Latest rumor has him graduating and going to Rice.

I think eventually Jeremy Johnson takes the team over. I just can't see Gus sitting Nick next year, after the great year he has had this year with him being a senior.. Nick will get two years and Jeremy will get two after that.

Then we have the Elite 11 MVP and Tyler Queen coming.

We should be OK

It's at least refreshing to see him develop and actually improve as opposed to LeMay. Actually, kinda would like to know how his RS year is going.

I really would like to see a nice set of fakes using Bauta but as Durden and I have discussed we kinda wanted a package that UF and OU use with Bell/Tebow (before he started) where it's like a physical wildcat. We called it the Jurassic Package with Bautasaurus offset by Quayvonicus Hicks and Keith marshall (no cool dino name for him) with the gurley-saurus rex behind

What happened to the QB who started vs UGA last year? #12 I think, is that JJ?

Yea. Wallace never really was a SEC Caliber QB. He was just better than Frazier last year which is like saying death by drowning is better than death by fire.

He is a JR and will be a back up but will see very little playing time. Marshall and Johnson are the guys…

I think this topic is one of the most under-talked about in the SEC right now.

Alabama loses a McCarron
LSU loses Mettenberger
Georgia loses Murray
A&M loses Manziel
Mizzou loses Franklin
USC loses Shaw

That is ALOT of talent going out of the conference next year. With the defenses in the conference so young this year we've seen a lot of points, I would expect the defenses to return to the SEC next year.

5th year seniors and All Americans out of high school might be great plans, but they have NO EXPERIENCE. Murray and McCarron especially have taken every snap for years and years, you can't just put in a rook and expect the same results.

Next year is going to be very very interesting.

Alas, someone hasn't heard the good news. The news that, in fact, Georgia has yet again found another senior to handle the transition. Except this senior is different. This one is special. So special he wears #14 like David Greene before him (again, Joe Cox doesn't count on account of excessive gingerness) and he plans on shattering not just records but people's hopes and dreams

The man, the quarterback, the legend, Hutson Mason, is no rook.

I'm in the minority here but I don't think Gus would've burnt Johnson's redshirt if he wasn't planning on starting him next year

Wouldn't say "for sure"

If Brandon isn't asked to transfer it will be him vs. rFR Austin Allen vs. FR Rafe Peavey vs. rFR Damon Mitchell

Theres derby too but i doubt he stays

Mason will also be helped tremendously by a supporting cast of Gurley, Marshall, Mitchell, Bennett, JSW, Conley, Rome, Rumph, Davis, Terry, Michel, Chubb, Hicks, Douglas, Green ...

He is going to start the guy who is the best and who can do the most in his system.

That will more than likely be a experienced Nick Marshall.

AS good as Nick Marshall has been this year, what makes you think Gus will not go to him next year. He will be a senior and have more time in Gus's system.

I agree that he will likely maintain the starting job for all the reason's you mentioned, but the fact is he just isn't that great of a passer.

He absolutely tore UT up running the ball, but when he went to pass it was pretty bad. Luckily he ran so well we just stopped passing and it worked out.

Rooks a rook, the guy has never taken a meaningful snap in college. You can claim he's a 5th year senior, ya that's great, but he has the game experience of a freshmen.
