I would be surprised if AJ McCarron doesn't get this award. Would be embarassing for the SEC for the top Heisman hopeful in the league to be skipped over.

Jordan Matthews. No player deserves it more. If not for him, it's a five win season at best.

Obviously a lot of that debate depends on where loyalties lie. But I think most of the basis for Murray getting acknowledgement over McCarron is that AJ threw for just under 2700 yards with healthy receivers throughout the regular season (sans the occasional missed game or 2 by Amari Cooper). Whereas Murray continued his dominant passing streak of 4 straight 3000 yard passing seasons, all while the leading receiver on the team had just over 600 yards while only playing in 7 of 12 games (Chris Conley). I respect the heck out of McCarron and he is a wonderful pro prospect (IMO), but what Murray has accomplished this season was nothing short of remarkable.

As an aside, as stated above; Tre Mason should probably be the SEC POY. He was nothing but spectacular all season long.

When its as little of a difference between 3k and 2.7k over 12 games that is around 25 yards a game more that is all. Basically AJ took off earlier in blow outs.

I would be ok with this. He is an absolutely dominant receiver.

It should be JFF. Murray has had a good year and a great career, and I understand that he lost a lot of teammates to injury this year...but Johnny has had to win games without a defense to help him out. All year long.

Lost 4 ball games including the last 2, that is leading your team to wins alright.

Point taken, but the more important aspect of that is that Murray was able to do it 4 times in his career and is the only SEC QB to ever do so. McCarron has never been able to do it once. Again, I am not advocating a McCarron vs. Murray debate, but I just think that speaks to just how good McCarron's teams have been around him much more that him being a more outstanding player than Murray. Both are outstanding and worthy in there own right to be considered for the nomination.

I'm curious why no mention of McCarron but then again I see the LSU tag by your name

McCarron wasn't even close to the best player on his own team... why would he be POY?

I think Matthews will get some consideration. 5 wins without him is being generous. More like 3.

AJ should be mentioned. Without him this year bama likely lose 4 games. Auburn, a&m, LSU, and maybe MSU.

These Bamam tards....listen here frick sticks, You could put any QB under the sun with Bamas Offense and he would perform similar. There is nothing special about McCarron as much as you guys want there to be...just stop.

Murray might have not won national titles but without him, UGA would be 1/2 as good as they are. You cannot with a straight face say that about Bama and McCarron. If McCarron went down...another guy would step up...but lets not forget that you also have an amazing defense to fall back on. UGA's defense is a fricking steamy pile of horse shite. Murray basically had to out-score opponents ALL fricking year and on few occasions, took the team on his back for the win.

McCarron might have more titles, but Murray has more heart and meant more to his team then that tattooed frick stick ever did.

You could say the same for Murray. Our defense isn't good.

Having the most talent doesn't make you the best team if that talent doesn't win their games.

It is simply stunning to me how Connor Shaw, a man who never lost at home and has literally willed his team to victories over the last three years, is continually ignored for superlative honors.

His TD-INT numbers are 21-1. For as much love as McCarron gets over that stat, Shaw's thrown fewer picks.

Regardless, I know he'll get ignored for this, as well as the Heisman. But I wouldn't trade him for any other QB in the conference.

Not really. Think about it like this. Not to take anything away from McCarron becuase to do what he has done is amazing and may not be done again in a good while.....but he was driving an Enzo Ferrari during his whole career at Bama. To compare Murray was driving a Mercedes at best.

Especially this season with a the injuries UGA had....without Murray UGA is cemented firmly in the tank. Without McCarron I still think Bama has a 10 win season easily.
