Everybody is going to miss Gary and Verne when they are gone and we have 2 robots who talk like they are from Anywhere, USA just like we all miss Jefferson Pilot now that we have uber generic bots calling those games.

Gary's greatest contribution this weekend was when Amari Cooper dropped a pass on an over the shoulder fade; Gary delivered the following:

"Look at that almost catch! Wow!"

Classic.

I have no reason to like Danielson other than the fact that he's the very best analyst broadcasting college football. His experience, along with the extensive preparation he puts in on a weekly basis gives viewers an excellent insight into how each team is going to try to game plan and scheme their opponent. The "homework" he puts in allows him to be able to forecast team tendencies, hence make calls before they happen...the guy's simply the best, like him or not.

If you listen to the HD CBS Broadcast on a Home Theater, disconnect the Center channel speaker & listen Without Commentators. Ymmv.

This is genius!

It's too bad I have a sound bar.

I swear if they gave all viewers the option of commentators or no they would be very surprised I think. Or the alternative is they know that most folks don't want the commentary but DGAF.

I think the entire CBS presentation is the best and that all others pale in comparison.

Verne and Gary are a great duo. Gary is always well prepared and is usually quick to correct himself when wrong. It has to be challenging working with Verne at this point in his career, yet Gary and him have maintained a great repoire.

I will miss Verne whenever he retires. He is up there with Keith Jackson and Dick Enberg as my favorite play by play voices.

Verne and Gary can not pronounce players names and get the numbers wrong every game.
