i'd really like to see a 30 for 30 type series for SEC schools, would be awesome IMO.
At the very least we are certain to get some type of SEC history series which i'm sure will be outstanding.

there where also games televised locally on CSS, Sun Sports, Fox Sports.
This is why we are having to wait until 2014 before we can launch the SECN. 2014 is when those syndicated rights are up. ESPN already had too much SEC inventory to put on their channels, so they farmed them out to other networks. This also includes the weekly 10:30 games that were farmed out to local affiliates (what used to be the Jefferson Pilot games).

Look ESPN and the SEC has already said that they are going to put 3 games a week on the SECN. They also said that they could put higher end games on it if they felt the need to apply pressure to certain tv markets. ESPN is not only getting the 14 games allotted to the school for PPV, but they are also buying back all of the games that they had to sell to other networks due to the fact that they didn't have room for them. Add in the fact that they own the 1st & 2nd tier rights to almost all of the other major conferences, and ESPN have far enough leverage to push the SECN to all of its tv media market targets.

Well I thought SEC Football is king
So it appears u do get it.
SEC and ESPN do what they want and sit back and watch the $$$ roll in.
The rich get richer. Sucks for other conferences but it is what it is.

Nothing is a sure thing in life except death and taxes. But judging from the sucess of the BTN , I'd say its a very safe bet that ESPN will figure out how to make the SECN a huge success. I know I can't wait to see it come online in ?Aug2014?. It will get really interesting if the Netflix/Hulu model continues to gain popularity and is able to show big sporting events ala carte. Maybe ESPN will decide to sell some SEC games there.
buck, are you really an LSU fan? You sound like an angry B12 fan thats upset because the B12 has no chance of ever getting their own network.

You have several incorrect, ignorant, and downright stupid assumptions. Let's go over them:
1. ESPN wanted the Longhorn Network because of how much money Texas generates
Completely, totally, and epically false. There are only two reasons that ESPN signed on to that massive shitshow - To keep the Big 12 from falling apart after the 2010 season and to try to get around the NCAA by monopolizing Texas High School athletic events, which are run by the UIL (coincidentally on the campus in Austin). When A&M and other schools exposed both in 2011, A&M followed by leaving for the SEC.
2. SEC Network will only have the 14 games that would have been on Pay Per View/
Also horribly false. Remember all of those "SEC Network" games that were either on a local affiliate for the noon game, then on FS South for the evening game? Now those are your SEC Network games. 12 eastern, 3:30 eastern, 7 eastern. 3 games
3. The inventory isn't there.
Not only do you have up to 45 football games/season (3/week for 15 weeks), but you also have all of the weekly basketball games that you normally can't even get on ESPN3, and all of the baseball games that you can't get anywhere now.
4. No one will get it
This isn't the Longhorn Network. There are still 13 months before launch.

Fact: it wasn't until a year or so ago that that the network achieved 100% distribution in the city of Austin. The mighty Longhorns couldn't even get cable companies in their home town of Austin to carry the network.
Incorrect, I live in Austin and most still don't have the network. Time Warner Cable is the number one provider...they still don't have it...I laugh every time I hear a sip beotch about it.
