In all seriousness, if Wade can add a big time transfer like Alstork (slim chance), he certainly has the ability to coach that team up to be close to a bubble team.

Dont see what's so funny, Johnny was a horrible coach. We wont make the tournament, but we could be around a 7-11 to 9-9 type SEC team for sure. Wade is a really good coach and isn't settling with some bottom feeders left to him, he's replacing them.
In his short time here he's added Mayan Kiir & Daryl Edwards. He said he's looking to get 2 more guys too, with a top grad transfer visiting soon in Mark Alstork. He's getting rid of the guys Johnny Jones would just let coast for years here not doing much of anything.

I actually do not doubt this

OM will be better than half of those teams.
PG - Tyree
SG - M. Crawford/ (trasfer from Memphis)/ Shuler (4* from Oak Hill Academy)/ Burnett
SF - T. Davis
PF - J. Pickett (4*) Finally the swing 4 AK has been looking for.
C - Dom Olejniczak - 7 foot transfer. Coaches were raving about him all last year.
Hymon/ Furmanavichous/ Silinis (hurt early last year) will give plenty of depth at the post.
Burnett/ Shuler/ Crawford/ Tyree and Burnett is a pretty good guard rotation.

I'm being serious. Ole will replace Saiz, and M. Crawford will be the lock down defender who can play all 3 guard spots. Davis will contend for all conference.

Then you have South Carolina and what all they lost. They have to replace some key players and this may be the toughest coaching season for Martin yet. Trying to follow up such a successful season even though the losses hurt production on the offensive end.
You remember that scene in Moneyball where they are sitting around the table and the scouts were bringing up who they thought should be signed? That reminds me a lot of where we are as a team right now. In the same way they weren't going to be able to find a 1B that could replace Giambi, we aren't going to be able to have 3 guards step up and replace the 3 we lost. I do think that as a team/bench they can come close to replacing the stats due to the fact that the overall success that Martin has had has been due to player development and not overpowering recruiting.

Frank is out trying to get one more player for next season. It looks like we are targeting a transfer from Wright State and a guy from New Jersey who is deciding to either come to SC or go spend a year at a prep school, Brewster Academy. Frank is also replacing his top assistant, who left for Austin Peay.
Are you his mom? Who the frick calls him Frank.

Not a chance Mizzou gets in unless they add another elite guy.

I just don't see it because Martin's development is not known for offense, which is what those 3 provided for your team.
I could definitely see USCe offsetting the lost production by improving their team defense. Just don't see it coming from offense

Most Gamecock fans call him Frank.

Those are not going to change much at all. Kiir is a fringe top 200 guy and Edwards is a lower level JUCO guy.

All of his players call him Frank. It's what he told them to refer to him as. Not Coach Martin, Coach Frank or just coach. He prefers to be called Frank. So GamecockNation does the same.

Kiir is a 4-star on 247, ranked #111 overall...composite 156
Was flipped form VCU to here when Wade came over. Also had offers from Illinois, N.C. State and Ben Howland.

Not even close, JUCO rankings are usually bad, he's not even ranked. He had offers from Iowa State, UNLV and Wade at VCU. He shot 46.6% from 3 this past season and is 6'4 185. He was going to go to ISU before Wade came here and changed his mind. jucorecruiting.com has him #23. He's a great 3 point sniper.
Wade is chasing off guys like Kieran Hayward and Branden Jenkins and replacing them with MUCH higher caliber players. He's going to add at least 1 if not 2 more guys too. There was a lot of dead weight on JJ's teams the past couple seasons. Guys who basically were no better than some walk ons.

Ole Miss should have incredible gourd play next year. If they get any defensive consistency they should make the NCAA. The exact opposite could be said about Bama on the offensive side of the ball. Auburn will have a ton of talent, especially on offense and should contend for an NCAA birth with ano average defense although they haven't proven they can provide below average defense.

Yes, we lost Thornwell, our best player by far and certainly best on offense, and we lost Notice, arguably our best defender and our 3 point specialist. Both to graduation.
Then we lost PJ Dozier to the draft.
So, that's 3 starters. We do return our bigs, which is nice.
It's hard to say. I don't think we'll be as good next year and the SEC looks to be on the upswing so it could get rough.
Y'all haven't heard of him yet because he sat out last year when he transferred, but Kory Holden is going to help ease the loss of Thornwell, at least from a ppg perspective. I have no idea what his defense is like, but he'll be able to score the ball and was our best shooter already last year from practice reports. I think we make the tournament this year as long as Silva stays healthy.
