Just by watching it on tv, the atmosphere was phenomenal. Its definitely an SEC type of place. I'm still confused at how the architecture of that stadium can generate so much noise. Great game!

Have you ever been to Kyle Field? It does look a little weird on TV because it's boxy but I got to tell you, it's one of my favorite venues. It is very easy to park and get into, very easy to get concessions and use restrooms and the view from many seats are very good. It's a very open air concept. They have a little grassy knoll that you can lay down with your kids and watch the big screen which is very cool.

Add to everything, they have great tailgating. You can walk up and meet people all along the strip. TAM fans are knowledgeable and friendly. Great place...

Best write-up of A&M I have read yet. Thanks!

It's all good.
Florida took care of business on the field.
And Gator fans were top-notch visitors.

It's more loud despite the architecture ... I'm hoping our new stadium will take acoustics into account and trap some noise rather than allow it to escape. I was on the student side and my head still hurts.

Not everyone is a decent person. Their freedom is no less protected by the Constitution of the United States. It's each person's right, as an American, to show respect how and when they choose.

Yes it is.

And it's each decent American's right to admonish an a-hole for being an a-hole (and I know our gator friend wasn't trying to be an a-hole, I'm speaking of those who purposely denigrate fallen troops).

So in the same way that we encourage folks to derail the illicit, yet legal, actions of the Westboro church, we try to encourage folks to be respectful to fallen troops by showing respect. And if you intentionally refuse to by hiding behind the right which they died to protect, well, good luck with trying to get folks to readily accept your defense.

But I'm done with this silly argument. Your points are lazy. What's important is that some folks choose to exercise restraint in their speech, which only increases the value of the right.

Sure it does. Because you can't universally regulate "jerkdom."

I never said they had to be quiet about it.

A lot of Ags need to chill out and not be jerks about it, simply ask people respectfully to honor the memorial.

This is the issue. Lots of dumb Aggies use the fallen soldiers as a means to be dicks to people.

Lots of crap on this thread.

Aggies:
We have a problem with not giving other team/fans the benefit of the doubt, whether it is injuries, coach post-game pressers, or MSC grass. And I am guilty of this too. Quit assuming everybody is out to shite on us because of who we are.If they are out to shite on us it is because we are the opposing fans. Shocker. What do you expect?

Thanks for the complements, Gator fans. Good luck the rest of the way.

I'd love to see the view from the last row of that stadium

Doubtful. The MSC is not a loud place or rambunctious place. Aggies tend to ask people to politely remove their hat. You're not going to find people lighting into someone over it, but because we do care that the memorial be respected you will likely be approached.

And I don't read all signs before going into buildings so I understand if someone could miss the notice.

You're coming across like a victim. Not all Aggies are out to get you. Grow some sack.

Yeah, there's a lot up in the air at the moment, but a capital campaign is underway, Populous is under contract, and a committee is debating how to proceed (play games away from Kyle Field for a year, build on another location, do part of the stadium at a time, etc.)

And I'm saying that to be an a-hole to someone who is ignorant of such things, is fricking busch league and shameful. We both know Aggies can be assholes about this. You've probably seen it. I know I have, cause they've done it to me.

"Welcome to Aggieland! We're super nice unless you don't succumb to our traditions that you wouldn't know about unless you go to Fish Camp."

Except "try to encourage," in my experience, means yelling at strangers with hostility.

Why is it hiding behind their right? They fight for all our rights, not just the "good people's."

My point, that we shouldn't just blindly show respect because someone tells us to, is lazy? Oh, okay. That makes perfect sense. Why should you think about things and come to your own conclusion that something should be shown respect when you can just have strangers TELL you how to live your life.

The only time I ever, almost got into a fight in college station was because someone came up and knocked my hat off of my head. No one said, "Please take off your hat." They were yelling, "Uncover." I had no idea what the frick he was talking about.

Grow some decorum. Not everyone is like you. Some people say prayers to show respect. Some take off their hats. it just makes you look like a dick when you shame people into abiding by your definition of respect.

FIFY

Okay, okay I'm done. Have a good day.

But wait: I do agree that Ags shouldn't be assholes about it. However, politely reminding one to remove his or her cap, which may result in some embarrassment, is not being an a-hole. Yet I do agree that it's counterintuitive to yell "uncover" in the guest's face. That's just silly.

Oh Lord, you've been in the SEC what, 20 years? Piss bombs and all? And you're taking issue with Aggies ASKING someone to remove their hat in a fricking war memorial? I know you're trolling, because we've had this discussion before, but give me a fricking break. All you're doing is playing devil's advocate and trying to get people mad (yes, I'm mad), and try to prove your silly little point about constitutionally protected freedoms. Nobody's arguing that, but we WILL call you an a-hole for defending that behavior, whether it's westboro baptist church or keeping your hat on in the MSC. At the end of the day, what happened to playing nice in someone else's house? I'm sure not going to go out of my way to disrespect another school's traditions just because I can. Just give it the hell up and move on.

ya know, complaining about using fake injuries as a trick to slow the game down is chicken shite bull honkie. the very nature of the no huddle is a trick to prevent the defense from using substitutions. so, complaining about a trick to offset the trick sounds like whining to me.
