Oxford:

Nicer places to eat - City Grocery, Boure, Snackbar

More Casual - Ajax, Blind Pig (get the double stuffed burger), Soulshine Pizza Co, and Big Bad Breakfast but you better get there early on a game weekend.

Bars:

If you have never been to Oxford you'll wanna see The Library. The Sportsbar is pretty tight and is always overflowing with snertch but then again it's Oxford, everywhere is gonna have trim, especially on a game weekend. Also, on a game weekend the Library cover will be $20 so frick that right?

My spots are City Grocery Bar, Boure (best balcony on the square), Roosters(if they have a band) and Burgundy Room.

This is interesting, because some bars in Fayetteville are much better when they're dead.

Smoke & Barrel, Dickson St. Pub, Brewski's to name a few. Those places are small and should be avoided on game weekends.

Rogue and Jose's are legit drinking spots when Dickson is hopping, they both have big open spaces outside with plenty of room to move around.

Also, I saw someone mention Hugo's for eating. Any other time I would agree, but if you go there before a game on Saturday you won't get a table. I recommend Mama Dean's, it's not in the heart of downtown and won't be as busy. It's a really good soul food place.

So true. These are great bars on weeknights and slower weekends. If there is anything going on in town though don't bother with them.

Kingfish fits here as well. that patio extension really moved them up. Also rogers rec for as shitty as the inside is the patio is the shite.

Bloodhound. Best food and selection of beer in town. They completely rennovated the old Auburn Ale House. The food is off the charts.

Oh yeah, forgot about Kingfish, their patio is huge. Haven't checked out Roger's new patio, are they sharing one with Rogue now?

It's been along time since I have been in BR, but the Caterie was a pretty good burger joint. Don't know if it still exists.

Saw mention of SkyBar, and it's not bad if you don't mind rubbing elbows with primarily fraternity/sorority types (and yeah, the sorority girls are hot...but then, almost all of the women in Auburn are hot, just like most every other SEC school). The better place to drink is the War Eagle Supper Club...due to archaic Alabama state laws, alcohol can't be sold on Sunday until after noon (presumably because you're supposed to go to church before getting your drink on). However, the Supper Club gets around that by being a private club (you have to buy a membership, for a dollar or two, before you can go in, though if you keep up with the card you won't have to do so again) and thus can go much longer into Sunday morning. Good music there, too. If you've ever seen the Velcro Pygmies, that's the spot they usually play in Auburn.

As for eating, Niffer's has some of the best burgers you'll ever find. I LOVE the mushroom-swiss burger, and the corn nuggets are a treat.

Momma Goldberg's is a great sandwich place that has expanded throughout the southeast, but started in Auburn in the 70s (the first shop is still there, corner of Donahue and Magnolia). If you go there, the Momma's Love is THE classic serving, and the nachos are awesome (pepper jack cheese steam melted onto Doritos).

We also recently got a Five Guys Burgers and Fries downtown on College Street, and while not an Auburn original, that place is freakin awesome. Burgers aren't quite on the level of Niffer's, IMO, but they're as close as I've had, and the fries are also outstanding.

Forgot about Byron's. That place has some exceptional Bar-B-Que. 17-16 is a good bar, too, from what I've heard, but I don't go out to drink much (cheaper to get liquor at the ABC store and party at home).

Fayetteville:

Dickson St: Farrell's, Doe's, Bordino's, 36 Club, Theo's, Hog Haus Brew Pub.

On the square (close to it anyway) Hugo's.

On College Ave: Herman's, Mermaid's, Pesto Cafe

I put my favorites in bold. Enjoy your trip to the 'ville!

Sky bar is currently under expansion and will become the biggest bar in the entire south. New sports bar is being put upstairs.

I would just go to Northgate (the large bar area centered around University, College Main, Boyett and Church Street) and bar hop. My favorites to drink at are Corner Bar, O'Bannon's and Logan's, but there are a ton of bars and the best way to experience it is usually just roaming around and hopping from bar to bar because they're all right next to each other.

To eat, my favorite places on Northgate are La Bodega, Rusty Taco, Dixie Chicken, Cafe Eccell and Antonio's. Corner has pretty good bar food for cheap too.

Off Northgate- Koppe Bridge (burgers), Fargo's (BBQ- Bryan), Chicken Oil (burgers-Bryan), Wings N More, Grub Burger Bar, Fuego (Tex Mex). For nicer, more expensive food The Republic and Christopher's (Bryan) are great. I'm probably forgetting quite a bit and we've had several posts on here for visiting fans before that give a great list of places

they basically fenced off the back corner of rouge's patio and put big glass garage doors on the side of rogers. It's pretty big but not nearly as big as rouge or king fish. However it's just as nice as rouges and even has an outdoor pool table. Plus there is never a cover and you can always hear the band at rouge.
