I went to a Mississippi in Central Park festival last June. Can't wait for the one this summer. There were a bunch of people from Jackson there. Live blues band, shrimp and grits (some of the best I've ever had actually), BBQ, Ole Miss and Miss. St. reps and tons of southern milfs. It was good times 
ETA: of course I showed up sporting LSU gear and got plenty of dirty looks

There is one downtown, it is new. I don't remember the name but is right downtown in a basement.

Yeah, I love going to that kind of stuff. Just sometimes you got shite to do on those weekends.

probably summer time after my job contract is up. wish I could make a baseball series but that's probably not happening. definitely coming down in the fall for WVU, Tennessee and Bama.

Jackson is not nearly as bad as I would have thought it would be. I am actually enjoying it quite a bit. It's not as fun as being in college, but what place would be?

I am from Pearl originally so I know how Jackson can be. Not nearly as bad as ppl make it out to be, but still is not up to par with other major cities throughout the southeast.
