Notre Dame would be the biggest slam dunk expansion school possible.

Hell yea they make financial sense.

Yeah, you just keep dreaming about Notre Dame.

Hey Fresno would bring in the ENTIRE California market!!!1!

I'm glad that you realize that nobody gives a shite about your school and their weird cult traditions. the SEC needed a big texas school for money reasons and the SEC got its big payday because you were added. With that being said, if the SEC does decide to expand again it needs to bring in some athletic powers, not simply teams that will expand the tv footprint.

Strong.

But, you are welcome. AAU, endowment that could buy virtually all SEC schools and just turn them in to TAMU 'insert name of worthless state here.' Top 10 athletic department.

Get on those knees and thank a school that could have walked in to any conference and left with an offer that day.

You asked if ND would make financial sense not if I thought they would ever join. I hope you are trolling and not just too dumb to remember what you just asked.

and no, Fresno wouldnt bring the entire CA market. They don't have the pull to do that in a state that big. Good lord what a shitty straw man attempt that is.

I DGAF about the name on the jersey if the team is any good. That's why I've never bitched about playing Mizzou for the last several years. Getting into the SEC would cause both UVA and NCST (or UNC/VT) to have such an uptick in recruiting they would quickly become much tougher teams to beat.

Sorry your brain is ruled by jersey names instead of the actual product on the field. It must suck to be a sheep.

I would prefer no more expansion, but I could find a way to get behind UNC or NC State and Virginia Tech.

Agreed, 12 is the ideal number for a conference. Big enough to have divisions, small enough that you actually get to play everyone on a regular basis and have a sense of identity.

Not sure why people want to dilute the brand even more.

You're talking about NC State, and I'm agreeing with the poster that says FSU, and you want to bring up "actual product on the field"?

It's not a straw man, it's reductio ad absurdum to show the absurdity of chasing teams for their economic footprint.

Ok Mr. Business man. Its a hypothetical conversation here, thus, why I included a CUSA team. Relax. According to you then, no new team should grace the SEC because of TV markets and revenue. Build it and they will come, right? FSU would make the SEC millions and millions and if you cant admit this, youre drunk.

I feel that others explained the realities of this sufficient enough. But to be clear the SEC would loose money by adding FSU. Period! There is no other discussion. Divide 300 million by 14. Then divide 300 million by 15. FSU would bring no new TV revenue which is the only thing that matters in this day and age. Add a VA and NC school and you then divide 365 million by 16 that is better than 300 million by 14.

(Numbers are generalized but not accurate to make a point.)

Do not disagree with that.

However, if the discussion turns in to 14 v 16 I think 16 is better. It would allow for the 4 pods of 4 teams, allowing your team to cycle through every team more frequently than with 14. I'd prefer 16 to 14. 14 is just a bad # for a conference. Especially the way the SEC does it, with 8 conference games and only 1 rotating game.

Having said that, I am a traditionalist. Bring back Georgia Tech and Tulane before you pursue any new teams outside of the conference.

Why we already have ATL on lockdown and Mizzou brings enough Yankees to the table.

VT and NCSU might be the best options in the east and out of the ACC. UNC I do not see leaving even if it would help that program which is awful right now. NCSU fans are a lot closer to SEC than any other NC school.

Only because idiots like you buy in and keep parroting this bullshite.

There used to be a time in this country when the consumers actually had a say in what products were offered. Now we just take what they give us and pretend like we love it.

I don't know about you, but I haven't been making any money off of this Mizzou deal.
