5500 acres is a large campus indeed.
Ours is 412. LOL.

That's gotta be the whole UA system, right? Does Bama really have 36k in Tuscaloosa?

Pretty sure 36k in Tuscaloosa alone.

How would having 5,000 more students on campus tarnish the school's identity?
Less students make it much easier for the BOT to squelch any dissidence from the student body.

Sorry sweetheart, but no. University of Mississippi Medical Center is connected to Ole Miss. Therefore it is part of the school system. But keep living in denial.

flyAU, we're a flagship of a ridiculously huge state.
Whether that's a "good" or bad thing is a moot point; it's simply an issue of serving the citizens of the state.
It stands to reason that we're going to be larger than Mississippi or Auburn.
I mentioned the size of the football stadium for the purpose of pointing out that many are comparing apples to oranges.
When a university (Texas A&M) graduates more students each year than most universities enroll in their entirety, the numbers are going to be dissimilar and can't really be legitimately compared.
I wasn't insulting anyone.

This sentence is still correct, right?
Arkansas and LSU both have medical centers in larger cities in the state. UAMS is not a part of UCA or UALR (which is technically a part of the University of Arkansas anyway). UAMS is part of the U of Arkansas system, but nobody would ever claim it in our "enrollment" numbers. It is located 3 hours away and that's just dumb.

Well that's dumb. We claim our law school enrollment numbers but because it's in Jackson, we can't claim UMC? I don't get that logic.

There's 36K in Tuscaloosa alone. It's well over 50k for the entire UA system.

I agree that it's tricky when they're alums of LSU's medical school, but they're not considered in the enrollment.
Honestly though I think LSU is 30k just undergrad, so I don't think LSU counts the Pennington Research Center, the med school, or law school in its usual count

These are based on fall '14 enrollment numbers.
(got them off wiki but each one had a linked source)
1. Texas A&M 62,185
2. Florida 51,474
3. Alabama 36,155
4. Missouri 35,425
5. Georgia 35,197
6. South Carolina 31,980
7. LSU 30,451
8. Kentucky 29,385
9. Tennessee 27,410
10. Arkansas 26,301
11. Auburn 25,912
12. Mississippi 23,096
13. Mississippi State 20,138
14. Vanderbilt 12,686
Only one that surprises me is LSU. At one time, it had one of the best history departments in the nation. Freshman through grad school. Had I gone to grad school, it would have been LSU in history or UNC in English.
Any on here that A&M surprised should make an attempt to go to Houston and view The Texas Medical Center. Same as A&M: MONEY. Plus A&M is one of the top farming schools in the world. And kids need not apply to one of its engineering programs without at least a score of 1900.

Look a couple posts up. Arkansas claims a total enrollment just over 26,000.
However, from Arkansas' own web site, the main campus total enrollment is only 23,917... so, where are those extra students that Arkansas claims as part of its enrollment? Oh, that's right... the medical school in Little Rock.

That's false.
The number, from your own link, is Spring 2014 enrollment.
Every school has a slightly lower Spring enrollment than Fall. This is 2015, btw. Spring 2015 enrollment is 24,500.
The enrollment number of over 26,000 is Fall 2014, Fayetteville campus only.
The medical school campus in LR is about 2900 students, and they aren't counted in our "enrollment" numbers.

Really? Anyone in the nation thinks we are a bunch of "cultish redneck weirdos?" No fricking way. FAR more people know A&M to be a "good school" because they only know us through things like national rankings. You have to be pretty close to care enough about us to know we are weirdos. You are simply wrong, and you need to accept that fact.
Yeah, uh...no

Here's the same PDF, Fall 2014:
University of Arkansas - Fayetteville Fall 2014
The figure only includes undergrad, grad, and the Fayetteville law campus. (There's a second law school in LR).
