Not hostile, just pointing out the fact that a guy with 20k posts on a message board probably shouldn't be calling random people that he doesn't know on the Internet virgins. Looks kinda silly

Well clearly you are interested considering that you kept bringing it up until I responded. But now all you can do is be a jealous smartass right?

You keep mentioning these national rankings? Which ones? Because every one I've just looked at yall are well into the hundreds? I gurantee you the average person doesn't recognize Texas atm for anything except for a school in Texas. Same as LSU, we're just that football school in Louisiana. If you truly believe atm has a national stamp you're looking way too deep into your colors. Atm is not a Sewanee or a Berkeley or an ivy league school man.

Because they are doing the right thing and keeping the identity of the school and programs intact. I hate the approach Bama and Lsu has taken in the last 10 years
Totally agree. When I was a freshman there were 18,000 at Bama. And that was only a decade ago. It was such a better place back then, shitty old dorms and all. Witt is trying to turn Alabama into something it will never be. No matter how much money we spend, how much we raise tuition, or how many out of state kids we recruit, Bama will never be Michigan, UVA, Cal, or Texas. It's just turning into a poor man's version of them. I was fine with Bama being a simple state school with the goal of educating the people of Alabama.

I never said A&M was. There is a middle group between being a Harvard and being an LSU. Y'all having such a hard time conceptualizing this middle ground doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

How the hell can people be happy about thousands of more people jamming up the streets, restaurants/bars parking lots etc? This has to be the dumbest thing to be proud of that I have seen on the rant.

Our community, business owners, hoteliers, C of C, etc. LOVE when our streets and parking lots are filled.
Those who question the logic behind our 100K+ football stadium ... look no farther than the growth of our Former Student population to find the rationale.
At this point, any downsizing or maintenance of the status quo--in terms of population--would be a reason for concern.

Kinda agree, but more ppl means better restaurants, bars, etc.

What does the size of a football stadium have to do with anything?
I assume you are a business owner, hotelier or whatever a C of C is? Because there is very little plus side as a student in having 49,999 others that you have to contend with.
ETA: figured out you meant chamber of commerce.
