No, it's not. There is no such thing as a gun free zone since SCOTUS threw out laws that violate the 2nd Amendment.

Of course, that's not even the point. You don't have to go through a security checkpoint to enter the south side of Chicago, so it's easy for people to violate whatever laws do restrict the right to carry guns. In a stadium, it would be a lot easier to enforce.

The NCAA may do something as well. I can't see how they could possibly let their teams compete in a stadium full of passionate, possibly drunk and definitely hostile fans WITH GUNS after they made a pretty big deal out of not sending teams to North Carolina because of the bathroom law.

Yeah, it seems that there's almost no possible way it gets to the point of actually having fans permitted to carry guns inside the stadiums for college athletics.

How smoothly it turns out will ultimately come down to how extreme some Arkansas legislators want to be about "making their stand".

I imagine that the $$$ football games bring will ultimately be the stronger conviction.

regardless of your gun views... can we all agree that Arkansas fans need to spend a little less on their guns and a little more on dental work?

I'm about as pro 2nd amendment as you can get. But this is beyond stupid. The SEC should just come out and say that they're going to take away all of Arky's home games until this law changes. They will wake the legislature up real quick...

A full day of drinking before a ESPN night game against one of your rivals. What could go wrong?

The NCAA made a big deal about that because it was discriminatory.

Fair point. We're not all toothless like you folks down in Mississippi so it's best to stay ahead of any potential problems.

Agree. Fayetteville could modify the city code to allow CCs to legally discharge a firearm in city limits, then the CCs could fire off three shots in the air after Calling the Hogs during the game. That would be a helluva scene! And, damn intimidating to the opponents and their fans.

this is a fricking terrible law. i'm no liberal but I damn sure am not attending a game with a bunch of armed drunks. and, to make matters worse, it will probably make it easier for a terrorist to get weapons in.

this is a law based solely on ideology. how many fricking people get assaulted at football games? I i'm a ref, I refuse to call a game in Arkansas.

so now the Arkansas legislature has escalated the situation to the point they will be providing sniper teams to protect the fans from gun carriers they allowed to openly carry. What kind of fricking inbreds run that state?
