Well no responsible gun owner should be carrying after drinking, IMO

Arkansas republicans are horrible. That's what you get when your state is at the bottom of every education rating, idiots running the state

You are such a lying turd. I guess we were leading the country in education ratings the last 100 years while you're beloved Democrats ran the state.

Also, the commish looks like a weak little SJW making statements about this. Reminds me of the puddings that run the NFL and NBA.

The university could make its own policy on guns and enforce it. Or just make the whole campus a gun free zone.

The south side of Chicago is a gun free zone. How is that working out?

Arkansas' athletic program would be over. No conference in America, not even the desperate Big 12 would schedule a game where guns are permitted.

jpainter6174, pretty sure I heard somewhere that the first time this bill came up, a year or more ago, there was an amendment that gave universities the legal right to be exempted. This time, the bill as read now specifically removes the universities' power to do that. There is another amendment floating around that restores that power to the universities but no one is saying which way the vote will go this time.

Exactly.

I'm all for responsible gun ownership and laws.

But drunken fans at an SEC game that could get heated is no place for that.

Concealed carry permits aren't valid if you have ANY alcohol in your system. This would not change under the proposed law. Sporting events should probably be excluded anyway, due to the fricked up sec officiating.

Not in favor of concealed carry at games, and for the record I have a concealed carry and have since they came out. I carry about 80-90 percent of the time. I also served in the military for 23 years, and hunt and fish. Just do not agree.

However, not the sec commish's job to decide. I will live with whichever way the vote goes. The law allowing (which requires additional training) does not go into effect until 2018.

Hope god fearing pubs stick to their guns and we get booted out of SEC.

Only way I'll see a conference title in football in my lifetime.

We'll be in a less competitive conference and all the close calls will start going our way for some reason.

Sure. But it's also not legal to go over the speed limit and a shite ton of people do it anyway.

The SEC may not be the only one to have a say about this. The NCAA may do something as well. I can't see how they could possibly let their teams compete in a stadium full of passionate, possibly drunk and definitely hostile fans WITH GUNS after they made a pretty big deal out of not sending teams to North Carolina because of the bathroom law.
