And no UGA fan would disagree with that.
But in your OP you took a lame shot as if Richt as like 20 games under .500 or something, when in reality his winning percentage is almost neck and neck with sumlin, only difference being richt has spent 14 years in the SEC while sumlin has only had 3. The fact that he's 38-35 in ranked games while coaching against spurrier (at 2 schools), saban (at 2 schools), fulmer, tubs, meyer, miles, etc isn't too shabby.

I think the fact I consider 3 games above .500 to be doing less ought to tell you the respect I have for your program.

From the school of 'what have you done for me lately':
Fact...Bert has shut out the last two ranked teams he's faced.
Ole Miss 30-ZIP
LSWho 17-ZIP
One of them has a much hyped stud running back. He gained 9 yards in the game (almost 10 percent of their total offensive output however). You know who you are.

Or they were overrated because they really hadn't played any quality opponents to deserve their inflated ranking.
I would agree based off preseason projection rankings.

what was Sumlin's record against ranked teams while he was at houston? just want to know if he was consistently beating teams as an underdog
4-1, with wins against:
#5 OKST (finished 9-4 )
#24 PennSt (9-4, bowl game)
#23 Air Force
#23 ECU
#25 Tulsa ( Todd graham/Malzahn as OC)
Loss to #24 Southern Miss
Pretty much a push I'd say. Jury is out on Sumlin, but I'm optimistic.
he can't really get full credit or full blame for his time at A&M so far. We'll definitely learn a lot this season.

When Sumlin took over for A&M the roster was not anywhere near where it needed to be. He was fortunate to have a lot of multi year starting seniors but the team was thin, built for the big 12, and had HUGE roster holes.
Facilities, recruiting, etc at A&M in 2011 and UGA were not even in the same weight class. We've only just now begun to build the program.

Richt's not awful, he has a winning record against ranked teams, he's been very consistent at UGA, but I'm not the first to point out he could be doing much more.
I don't think any UGA fan would disagree but Texas A&M surely isn't one to be chucking these accusations around.

Overall, I don't think lists like these are very useful.
If you base it off of preseason rankings you're incorporating biased uninformed voters, but if you base it off of end of season rankings it will be biased towards higher ranked teams. Also doesn't differentiate between beating a #3 ranked 11-1 SEC team versus a #24 ranked 8-4 C-USA team.

Don't know why they do these with what the team was ranked at the time.
Example, 2000 Bama starts the nation number 3. Wins 3 games. Did you really beat the number 3 team? No.
Conversely, we have heard for years how much better the "body of work" for Okie St in 2011.
Not really:
Okie St- 2 opponents finished in the top 25, Baylor at 13 and K state at 15. No opponent finished in the top 10.
Bama- 2 opponents finished in the top 25. Both in the top 10. Arky at number 5 and LSU at number 2. The body of work actually belonged to Bama when it was all said and done which is how these "ranked" teams should be judged..

Just barely over .500% vs ranked teams with Richt is not good. But but look at his record vs the SEC.

Central Michigan, Cincinnati and the UT of the last few years weren't exactly programs built to upset ranked teams. If Butch doesn't have them beating ranked teams within the next couple of years, though, then we can start with the WTFs.

Question:
What's next for Arkansas if yall keep doing the same shite yall have always done? As in (not playing in SECCG, 7-5 seasons, losing SEC records, shitty bowls, losing to LSU)
If all that happens and goes back to normal what happens next? Do you still bank on 17-0? Do you quit posting? Very interested to find out.
