Would have to be McElwain I suppose.

Saban
You could give it to him any year.

- McElwain
Sure I guess even though he roided up his QB to win his first few SEC games.
quote:

- Freeze
NO WAY! He underachieved. He beat Alabama and LSU this year with 3 first round draft picks on his team and STILL couldn't make it to Atlanta. This was supposed to be the year for Ole Miss. Best team they have ever had talent wise.

- Mullen?
Nope. Didn't do anything special this year either.

- Bert?

Arkansas had a great second half to the season but a COTY award should be given to someone who had a great season from start to finish.

- Butch?

Nah, He'll probably lock that thing up next year anyway.

All coaches who haven't been fired or threatened to be fired at some level should share it

Saban, Freeze, Mac and Bert. And Derek Mason.

McElwains gonna get it but honestly, Nick should have wont he last 2. Rebuilding years, CFP maybe both years. However, they like to splash guy. Hard to argue McElwain with that said. Good coach and good guy. Heck you could even give Les a nod to get to 8-3 with all that he went through in what was a rebuild year as well. Getting that team ready to play A&M was no easy task.

how about a coach willing to cancel his (craptastic season) to support his players going on strike over some campus shitstirrer?

Maybe he should get a Nobel peace prize instead?

Should be Saban.

McElwain's biggest wins came with a player on PEDs. The award is tarnished if he wins it unless he wins the SECCG.

Knowing the times, Pinkel will probably win it for his SJW battles.

It is funny that Saban basically isn't allowed to win this award. The last 2 seasons maybe have been his 2 best coaching jobs to date.

Completely agree. This years award shouldn't even be up for debate. Freeze & Mac should be 2nd & 3rd but this should be Saban easy.

I would say McElwain if it were not for the pity party press conference with roid boy. That ground my gears.

McElwain will win it, but I think Richt deserves it.

He has no QB and lost his star tailback and still might win 10 games.

I'd vote saban just by default, everyone else was pretty bad to to terrible. Freeze probably an easy second and McElwain third.

Whatever the opposite of this award is goes to Gus hands down.

Saban is really the answer

Even though Saban is the answer numerous years, he'll never win it unless he goes undefeated, and a newer coach hasn't had a big year.

Mac will win, but I'd give it to Bert. Going for that 2 point conversion - TWICE - was the ballsiest coaching move all year. He earned it there.

And Hugh let a spiced player play.
