I guess a building that looks like a red anus got no love from Preparation H.

I can't imagine what the Aggies will do to that stadium if they ever make it there.

hey now, they'll certainly play there........as long they schedule another kick-off game.
Or if they decide to get blown out by TCU again.

believe Mercedes has the naming rights to the superdome for 6 more years or so. They had released a statement about how they had to take the opportunity with Atl since it is their HQ's new home. It is one of the most lucrative deals in naming rights in all of sports.
6 years sounds about right. MB bought the Dome's naming rights in 2011 for ten years so I would assume they expire after the 2021 NFL season. With MB moving its US headquarters to ATL it is a no-brainer, but it is still funny that 2 division rivals have the same sponsor.

Tabasco Superdome has a ring to it.
If they are willing to pay it does have a nice ring to it. Capital One was interested in the bball arena naming rights, but ultimately Smoothie King paid more and is a hometown corporation. So the Capital One Superdome also has a nice ring to it. If O&G prices go back up there are quite a few major corporations that have a presence in La that could afford it. Rolls-Royce has a jet engine test center less than an hour from NOLA and their commercial marine division has a presence in NOLA so we could upgrade from the Benzdome to the Rolls.

Good, Atlanta is easily the best place for any SEC Championship.

Rolls would be awesome. I always like some tie to the sponsor and the city and a test center is good enough
I will be honest, I hoped that Porsche would have picked up the naming rights since they are also HQ'd in atlanta. Just glad Home Depot, Delta or Chick fil a didn't pick it up. though
Out of curiostiy, what large companys are HQ'd in NOLA?

I'm assuming Bama-Florida State will be the first college game in the stadium? Looking forward to it.

Wonder how many games the sec east will win in that time frame?
Not many if Missouri keeps winning it

I support rotation, just because it gets dull going to the same venue every year, particularly if the same teams are making it.
There are 4-5 spots in the South that would be cool.

1. The testing center is actually in Picayune Ms, but that is close enough to NOLA since it is only an hour drive from the Superdome, but like I said they also have a marine presence in NOLA.
2. Entergy is the only Fortune 500 company to have its headquarters in NOLA, but there are alot of large companies that have a presence in New Orleans and then you have all the oil, gas, and petrochemical energies that line the Ms River and are all over South La. Here is a list
quote:yes I was lazy and used wikipedia
The city is the home to a single Fortune 500 company: Entergy, a power generation utility and nuclear powerplant operations specialist. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the city lost its other Fortune 500 company, Freeport-McMoRan, when it merged its copper and gold exploration unit with an Arizona company and relocated that division to Phoenix, Arizona. Its McMoRan Exploration affiliate remains headquartered in New Orleans. Other companies either headquartered or with significant operations in New Orleans include: Pan American Life Insurance, Pool Corp, Rolls-Royce, Newpark Resources, AT&T, TurboSquid, iSeatz, IBM, Navtech, Superior Energy Services, Textron Marine & Land Systems, McDermott International, Pellerin Milnor, Lockheed Martin, Imperial Trading, Laitram, Harrah's Entertainment, Stewart Enterprises, Edison Chouest Offshore, Zatarain's, Waldemar S. Nelson & Co., Whitney National Bank, Capital One, Tidewater Marine, Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, Parsons Brinckerhoff, MWH Global, CH2M HILL, Energy Partners Ltd, The Receivables Exchange, GE Capital, and Smoothie King.
As long as La continues to have one of the most complicated state corp tax codes I doubt that we get many companies to move their headquarters especially with Tejas sitting there with no corporate income tax. However the state has done a damn good job of using deductions and tax credits to attract companies, but that is convo for another board.

No reason for this game to stay stagnant in on place for so long.
