Busiest airport in the world, with the soon-to-be best stadium in the world, with mass transmit from the airport to said stadium and plenty of hotel rooms to boot. Easy decision.

Among where? Atlanta and maybe New Orleans make sense but other than that I can't see a place well located. If St. Louis or Houston are in play then why not Jacksonville or Tampa.

Could also be past tense
Could also be a company that worked with ESPN
Could also be I banged some ESPN chick and the pillow talk moved up the chain
Could be I just stayed at the same hotel with the ESPN folks
Could be I just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express
Could be we are all in the Matrix and I am just bytes in the machine

Retractable roof but very doubtful it'll be retracted for the SECG at night (usually) and in December.

The only 3 cities that make sense geographically are Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashville.
If Nashville ever got a domed stadium that would be an awesome 3 year rotation.
It would also make it so that some of the further away teams had it closer sometimes.

One thing that very few people are mentioning is the fact that ATL is the home for large contingents of many SEC school alumni, not just UGA or Auburn. That alone helps to fill the stadium despite who is playing. As importantly, it fills the SEC fan thing going on and brings a buzz to the event.
Hell downtown ATL was able to host a Falcons preseason game, GaTech's home opener, and a huge convention in Dragon Con all last Thursday night. Few cities have the rooms, et al to be able to do that within the SEC footprint.

There is some truth to this.. However, LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Missouri would love for it rotate in Houston, New Orleans or Nashville besides Atlanta just to balance it out. These teams have fans planted all over Dallas, Houston, Nashville and New Orleans, which makes sense on the western side.
However, It's understandable why Atlanta has the nod. Heck, Little Rock is closer to Atlanta than Baton Rouge, which is Arkansas' largest fan base hub.
It truly just leaves the fan bases of Texas A&M (extra long haul) and Missouri with a long haul no matter what part of their state they are coming from.

I, like everyone else, believe if you were to pick ONE location to have it every year, Atlanta makes the most sense.
I just think in an ideal world it rotates amongst a few good cities.

Atlanta has an awesome fall. So quite a few. Are you afraid of a jet that is at least a few thousand feet in the air? Atlanta is not getting buzzed by aircraft.

This is a business world and keeping it in one location benefits the conference and the host.

I agree w/ most of this. As I said in an earlier post, I like it in one spot, but I certainly see that there are very reasonable arguments for a rotation, and if it were going to rotate I think those three cities would be the best choices. All are w/in driving distance of a fair number of schools (esp ATL and Nashville), have good airports (esp ATL), and are fun cities (esp NOLA and Nash). The other cities being mentioned (Houston, St. Louis, Dallas, Jax) would just be too inconvenient for the vast majority of the fanbases. Someone also mentioned some contractual obligation that keep it out of the superdome. I am not sure about those, but it could certainly play a factor. Maybe the sugar bowl people don't want the SECCG b/c they think that would make the sugar bowl less special b/c there would be two chances to go to NOLA w/in about a month's time (although you would think the same argument would apply to ATL and the Peach bowl).
One thing that has been mentioned, but not discussed at length is the effect of inertia. The game has been in Atlanta for 20 years and has been a great success. Maybe it would work in the other places, but no one wants to take that risk. Why kill the goose that lays the golden eggs? The SECCG has been by FAR the most successful conference championship game.
So if the SECCG were brand new and they were deciding what to do for the first time w/ the current structure of the playoffs.
And if there were no contractual obligations preventing NOLA from hosting.
And if Nashville had a dome.
Then I would agree, try a rotation among those three and see what spots work best (maybe two or three years in a row in each city). After the initial rotation they would likely either continue the rotation, amend it slightly, or pick one place.
But none of those are true, so we get ATL. It has worked really well for twenty years, and I think it is going to continue to work well and improve. I'd love to go once the new stadium opens and also check out the CFHOF. I think the new dome is unnecessary and a waste of money, but I also think it is going to be pretty badass, and I look forward to seeing it.

UGA, Bama, UF, AU, UT, Vandy, SC, MSU, and Ole Miss are all less than 5 hours away from Atlanta. Thats 9 of 14 members.
Kentucky is only a little over 5 hours away as well.
It's not moving from Atlanta to satisfy some expansion teams. It's just not happening. Thankfully.

We should move it to Columbia, Missouri; since they always play in it anyways
